tight quarters... Kicker CVX's in small boxes

i am sorry for all of my questions... but i have a mustang and i want to maximize wattage/sound/SQ and minimize space.

has anybody heard a 12 or 15 CVX in the minimum sized / or small enclosure?

Nope but I heard that they sounded decent in small sealed enclosures, but personally...no.

i was planning on a small sealed enclosure. i think i am going to go ahead and do it because the worst case senario i waste $20 worth of mdf.

but, i am still taking opinions...

How much space do you have to work with? I am not sure on the trunk size of a Mustang. You may be able to do a small ported enclosure, and not lose too much trunk space. For a 12" sub, the average box size is ~2 cubic feet.

the issue is not totally space, but i need to be able to get to my spair tire (unlike now) and it is mounted under the trunk floor.

i am limited to about 11" H x 30" W, unless the depth would be shorter than 14', then i could go about 13-14" High. these are all outer dimensions. it is such a pain.

i want ported, but i dont know if i would be able to get access to the spare.

according to kicker, their minimum ported size for the vx's states half of the RMS, when in a small ported, they can handle the full power.

I have a CVX 12 in a 1.5cft sealed box in my Focus, which is the ST 4 dr version, so it is in a trunk. It sounds ok, gets as loud as my FI Q did in same box, but not as clean. I will be selling it in the future to get a mag.

Also mine is getting 750rms. I just have bad luck with subs anymore. Loved the sound of the FI Q, but couldn't get it to stay in one piece and the CVX I can hammer on it and works like a champ, but isn't as clean.
