1. Received the two ti12d subs

2. Received the octane 6.5 compo set for front

3. Received one tantrum 1200.1

This is so far, a lot I still need to pay for and order and a lot is currently in order but I underestimated the titanium series bigtime...

Only by testing a little in a open room and looking at the specs i´m now sure that:

1. Two ti12d will not fit in my VW golf (not even close, one is a big max)

2. The octane-r speakers are underrated and sound creepy clear

3. The tantrum 1200.1 is NOT enough to power ONE ti12d sub (it moves, it hits but its most definatly not even close to its max)

work work work me thinks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Anyway, this is an update.. pics will follow when i start putting the shit in however one question I need answered... I need to know how to make those custom speaker holders that look almost like plastic and are painted... I got this custom doorpanel made but I want the speakers to point at me and not straight, anybody got a page on it ?

With more creative thinking, I'm sure you'll be able to fit the two Ti's in there somehow...hint: angles. Putting two ti subs in a car..wow, that'll blow your eaerdrums clean off. (or so it seems, judging by the specs of the sub)

As for the plastic and painted thing, you are referring to kick panels, door pod, kick pods,e tc. THey're essentially the same thing.

I believe you'd have three options:

1. purchased a pre-made one for your car

2. Use fiberglass to make one

3. Use resin (like me, eaiser) to make one.

Fiberglass needs quite a lot of work, but the results seem to be quite amazing.

the link above will teach you basic steps to fiberglassing. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure I'll refer back to this place if I get the time and stuff needed to make these kind of things.

As for resin, it's just like plasticine (play-doh), but will need a considerably longer time to sand and shape, and I don't think it is as strong as fiberglass. Mixing the right amounts really well should do the trick. I got pods up front, but I still haven't sanded it down, nor painted/carpeted, so now it looks horrible at the moment. Sounds much better though.

two ti12d´s is just insane, i never expected them to be what they are, and i know the specs are great but still they are underrated and if you look at the size of them and their weight then you would know that I have a problem since my golf only has a small trunk. Only way to fit them in is to tare out my backseat.

The whole problem is that I would need a shitload on filters to cut the frequenty off since I do not have the required space, the subs need 150l together or 90l each. That in combination with some amps is a no go.

I´m creative enough to figure some cool setup out where I could place them in, but now i´ve heart the sound (and now the price of the *****ez) i´m pretty convinved that one of those bastards should do the trick just as well and that two in my car is simply to much.

I havent got $$ for a HU and i think i know for sure that the second one goes back and the money i save on only using one is for a new and decent HU. I currently still have a lame-*** 1rca 1.5v kenwood thing which really should be atleast a HU with two 4.5 rca´s.

For the pods, yes... its exactly what I mean and I think i´m going for that fiberglass construction (if i manage). Its amazing to see the end result if you see how cranky it looks in the middle of that guys construction... but hey, its solid and it will sound better right?

response straight from pg when asked about powering the ti subs with more wattage:

I would very strongly recommend that you not run the Ti subs on any more than RMS power. There is no acoustical benefit to doing so, and we have seen guys absolutely nuke these subs (to the point of literally melting the cone) by running too much power. You will endanger your tinsel leads and voice coil, and there, again, is no reason to do this.

Run the Ti subs on the recommended power and you will be perfectly satisfied.

Best wishes,

Tad@PG

with that said, i wouldn't be the one to test out the limits of my sub. however, you are more than welcome to do so. what was the voltage when you tested out the sub with the tantrum? i ask because, according to the manual, the 1200.1 is only rated at 250x1 at 12.5v, but jumps to its 1200x1 at 14.4v. i strongly suspect that you had it running at 250x1, because if you had thrown the full under-rated 1200wrms at a single 12, i have a feeling you'd have damaged the driver within moments of play.
