Thunder 9500

that kicker4life fellow said that Treo was crap...told him about the world record, then he still said his Comp VR's are louder...
Some people //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Dude...If its a Kicker, its automatically loud...you didn't know that?

One time, at bandcamp, we put two VRs in this plywood bandpass box and it hit 321.46 dB.

I just installed a 9512 this week...I like the W7 better. Just my personal opinion.
Did a 143 on my mic with 1kw on it.

I've done W7 installs that did 145s with 500 watts.

But what do I know....
finally, thanks D, now we have a better idea of the two subs, because you have heard them head to head, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

ok u guys are now going to rang on me. I which we could talk about this like on the phone or in person . FUk SPEc for just congrad the guy on his purchase. second we talk about SPL like we are the founder of this sht. I was just saying that look at what the big boys use. They are the one's that are spornsed by some one they are the one breaking records. I have yet to see any one use an JL in an comp. and about that 153.3 at 1kw. and v-tech 12 hit an 153.1 at 1kw and I blew one of those last year whit and crossfire140. ok it is over

Hey man congrad on your purchase.I hope u enjoy it

actually homie, many people have used JL in competition...5 15s hit 170 with a shredder on each, and survived the death match. Heres another shocker for ya. All the big boys you talk about, that get this shit for free and then go compete with it. Their voices coils are wound by the companies to have the lowest impedence possible when the sub plays at the res freq of the car. So TECHNICALLY, the common public is NOT getting the same subs that the big boys use....

i've heard em head to head but i guess my thoughts don't matter.

Db drag wont allow the use of products that arnt availible to the public.. so at any event you SHOULDNT see modified woofers, although in 1x and 2x events u could use em with no problem..

they were indeed stock brahma's last year at the 2002 dB drag world finals...

david and i repaired a few of the tinsel's that sort of bent off from the excursion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The maximum Sound Pressure Level of any given Sub is a product of it's maximal mechanical excursion and it's sensitivity at the frequency that the box that holds it is tuned to.

The only thing that can stop a woofer from getting to this maximal SPL is overheating (if you have enough wattage available) So the real thermal Power handling should be higher then the power required to get the woofer to it's mechanical limits.

To get the highest SPL in a car, you should have the woofer+box that fits the above best, in a car that with equal resonance frequency.

I Know for a fact that the Germans that took the worldtitle last time, did not only tune their box to obtain maximal SPL, but also spent endless time and efforts to change the resonance frequency of their car to fit their boxdesign.

(Ow, and I've not heard the MTX woofers yet so I can't compare to the magnificient(ly expensive) W7's )

yeh, i was refering to subs in which their VC setups arnt commercially availible.. talked to many competitors that are wanting to run .5 ohm VC's and such voice coils, but DB Drag rules arnt allowing them..

how do they know what coil is availble and what isnt??

i have yet to see them break a dmm out at a show and check the impedence of the voice coils

only parts they care about really is the motor and what you can see on the outside
