Thunder 9500

3000 watts daily is not crazy...it's fun!
all in preference i guess. 3000 rms for daily to me is just plain stupid and not needed. yo uwon't hear any mids/highs with 3000rms to a pair of 15"s unless you have serious front staging. i would say spend 300 on some good comps and use that amp and take 1 sub amp out.

I appreciate your opinion/ advice, but I like my set up and I am going to keep it that way. If nobody has opinions on what brands of mids/highs or components then I would appreciate it if you just not put your 2 cents in on my sub/amp setup. I am not tryin' to be mean, but this is what I have and it is what I like and thats how it is. Thanks for all of your alls opinons though.

Well man, I agree with bumpin' on this one but I guess they're your ears and you can pretty much destroy them any way you want. Have fun, that is if you still have hearing in a couple of months.

yes that is fine. I felt that this system was better than the other one in which I had considered buying. I was going to get two 15" Eclipse Ti Pros. They are 3000 watts rms each! I figured that a total of 3000 watts for my current system is better than having a total of 6000 watts rms daily if i had the Ti Pros.

newbie thought no offense. b/c a sub is rated at 3000 does not mean you need to send it that much. i know for a fact that in the proper enclosure the 15" Ti Pro hits xmax with 1200rms.

I don't believe that I am a "newbie". If that is your opinion then fine. The only reason that I would put 3000 watts into each is because I had a bad experience when i didn't push rms into rockford fosgate subs. That is why now I always send rms.

wait so you had a problem when not running RMS power?? your saying underpowering a sub is a bad thing??

I am not saying anything in particular. Basically what I am saying that when I underpowered a pair of Rockford Fosgate subs I had a maajor problem. SO ever since then Ihave ran full rms and never had a problem.

the clipping part sounds about right. volume master perhaps. not tryin to be a dick biggen_bd just saying you can't hurt a sub by underpowering the driver unless you play volume master and send the amplifier into clipping.

see, thing is..

I've had my whols system for about 8 years now, and i sent my dual 200w RMS subs only about 50w each, and yet they still perform, and they didn't blow once. Well, after 7 years, I had to replace the surrounds, but other than that, it was fine. Now I give it about 250w RM each, and they are still fine.

You know how people say "it's all in the install"? Maybe that's your answer right there...

Ask about powering a brahama the full 1600w RMS in a big ported box to Jlaine and see what he says. If he has time, he could tell you some interesting aspects of RMS power.

If you need to give full thrmal RMS power to subs all the time, all of us would be deaf, we won't be able to reduce the volume.
