Stock stereo with a loc for my sub amp. i get a thump when the car is turned off and a faint static noise with the volume all the way down...

My grounds for both the amp and loc go straight to the frame. I was thinking its a ground loop between the loc and amp..

Can i wrap the rca plug at the amp with wire and then ground it?

I know i had to wrap my old pioneer 8600mp h/u's rca's outputs and ground those to the back of the h/u and the noise went away. Though that was alt noise.

Tried a rca filter i had and no change...I guess if i can ground the rca's at the h/u it would be no different if i ground them between the line out converter and the amp. Any for sure advice anyone?

where are you getting your remote turn-on from?

some amps, like PA, have poor quality designs and make noise.

to eliminate the noise you may need a switch on the remote that lets you turn the amp off first and the amp on last. that way you can turn the amp off before the car or HU is turned off. the thump is from the amp staying on longer than the actual signal, and the amp not having a proper muting design.
