Thoughts on this amp?

The alpine doesn't have a Subsonic filter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif What about the Precision Power PPI i650.1? Ive heard some good things about it and the amp guts look nice.

The alpine does have a filter. Also the JBL ms-A500

Well, nobody said this is a bad amp and not to get it, and it has all the features I want. I don't plan on the amp actually giving me all 600W its rated at and for 100 bucks new with warranty and support, I think its a good buy and like I said, nobody has flat out said "don't get it".

Im not going for the best of the best here. I just want something cheap and going to give me what I want.

Okay thanks! I'll look into more options then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
You can probably pick up something used on here for around your price guys here are pretty helpful and will cut you deals just because youre into the same hobby. What kind of sub do you have?

This is also an option, its overrated but should work, you also have the option of adding another subwoofer and wiring to 1 ohm in the future, close to the price bracket.

Oh wow! That's awesome! I think I'll get that one! So when setting the gain, I can throttle the amp right? Like If I only wanted 600 W RMS at 2 ohm I can use V= sqrt(P*R), V = sqrt(600 W * 2 ohms) = 34.6 V and that's what I want to set the gain to right?

Yup, since you have a T-line enclosure though, I'd trust your ears more since T-lines are a lot more efficient, your sub might hit mechanical limits, when that happens, adjust the subsonic filter and gain accordingly. Do tests with heavy playing and monitor your heat levels just to be sure. DMM method is a good stepping stone but you still have to baby your equipment.
