Thoughts on this amp?

Im considering getting this Sony XM-ZZR3301 Monoblock amplifier to run a HDS208.

It is CEA-2006 compliant, so does rated power. Has adjustable SSF, 600W @ 2 ohms, 330 W @ 4 ohms

And for only $105 bucks!

Edit: Also, it has 4 speaker terminals on it, but its a monoblock? How would I wire 1 DVC 4 ohm Sub to it?

Even tho it has 4 terminals, 2 being positive and 2 being negative they are still as one. Or in other words linked together at the board inside the amp.

4 terminals make it easier to add more woofers. Also cea compliant doesn't mean it does rated. FYI But hey $100 is no great loss

Huh, i always thought CEA means it does rated. Then, if you don't mind me asking, what does it mean?

Consumer electronics assoc just means they are part of a assoc and the amp is compliant with certain standards only but not really rms ratings

Do you expect to the amp to be anywhere near rated power? Even 500 @ 2 would be awesome deal.

Means the more you turn up your system. The worst it will sound. And it could be very hard on your cars electrical system

Look at the specs that should say. Any amp that had no efficiency ratings are gonna be bad amps to own

From what I've heard, CEA Compliant means that it only does rated at 4 ohms. Anything under is BS.

a 4 ohm dvc sub, you are better off with the alpine mrp 500.

The alpine doesn't have a Subsonic filter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif What about the Precision Power PPI i650.1? Ive heard some good things about it and the amp guts look nice.

I had their Ion 520.4 that little thing put out great power for what it is, however i'm not sure how good the 650.1 is, its in questionable waters just like the sony amp.
