Thoughts on sound stream Rubicon 2500d

The fisrt vid is is the rub 1000.1 not 2500. But yeah there r always gonna be bullsh1tters....but,when 20 people all claim between 2400 and 2600 at 1ohm rising to 3 and 3200 to 3600 at .5 rising to 1.8ish and only 2 people (that i can find) have said theyve done,less (and both were runnin stock alt, mix and match batts...agm and flooded) i,tend to believe the majority....especially when some of these guys i deal with first hand and know,they know their stuff.Look at the guy whos rub fried...lol stock elec, had it,under a seat and when he opened it,he saidbthe little silver things were fried or somethingblike that lol...he also didnt know,his preamp voltage....so i shouldnt have to explain to any of u why this amp,fried.,any amp would fry in that scenereo lol

I will make this simple, when i get back home to my shop in a few days ill go ahead and video my,clamp results just to put this to an end. Wasnt planning on videoing anything till my build was 100% comolete so ull have to excuse some of the fiberglass work going on and some of the wiring ive yet to tack,down and,hide.

My numbers will be with them strapped at .5 though and should be able to hold a steady 14.4 to 14v so this will most likely be the ABSOLUTE MAX u would get outta these.

Cool, will hold you to that. Remember, it will only count if you have an Oscope to show the waveform too.

haha, seems that way lol....dont have an oscope on hand, my brother used it and somehow managed to jack it up....dont really wanna spend the money on a new one seein as how i only use it on my builds and this one im doing will be my last for a few years...maybe i can find a local shop that has one but i doubt it...our local shops consist of a bunch of 19yr old with honda civics runnin 2 15kicker cvrs on 1000 watt alpine and they honestly believe they have the baddest sh1t around!

if this tells you anything, i needed some 8 gauge speaker wire and a few more 0 gauge terminals, the guy said they dont make 8 gauge speaker wire its called power wire and he never heard of 0 gauge lol

he asked what i was running and when i said sundown he laughed and said he had heard of sundown and they were weak...his exact words....so needless to say i had to give him a hlaf power demo (wiring wasnt completely buttoned up so was bein cautious) but it was more than enough to make him crap himself.

But yeah, ill get video one way or the other....also guess i might as well get it mic'd while im at it.

Not "for" amps, but yes. Plenty of computer/server grade fans that push 190CFM, but are loud as ****. Obviously not a problem with the volume up though.

I haven't found anything showing they do rated except a few people saying they do.

I see A LOT saying they do not post 2010.

Not "for" amps, but yes. Plenty of computer/server grade fans that push 190CFM, but are loud as ****. Obviously not a problem with the volume up though.

I hate showing my stuff until its 100% done. But im tired of arguing with people...always the same thing...got in a HUGE arguement a few years back on smd over audiopipe amps...i dont care for them at all but they will do rated (granted they are clipping like crazy lol) but i chimed in after hearing 20 people tell this guy hed be liucky to see 700 watts on the 1500...then everyone agreed so i started puttin them in their places and it got very heated....so i finally went outside and made a lil video, see my girl wanted a system but i didnt wanna drop much grip on it so i found 2 1500 amps on cl for 80 each talked him down to 65, and picked up 4 12' sundown sa's....sh1t hit crazy hard! So i had them each wired separately to 2 sub a piece in 2 seperate ported boxes i tossed together in about 2hrs, running at 1ohm on stock elec tuned to 38hz....this was in a suzuki grand vitara.

So i clamped first getting kinda weird numbers from each, clean power on both right up to the point of clipping i got 1390 somthing (cant remember exactly) rising to 2.2 and the other amp got 1640something rising to 1.8.....so it was weird they were that far off and so was rise seeing as how both enclosures were identical...but then again they were all used so no tellin.

So i posted the vid for them and then of course they all still talk crap saying i did it wrong and one guy even had the stupidity to say i must have switched the guts lol. I then went on to say that for 300 bucks i gotta decent setup that prolly mic'n round 143ish...they argued that so i went right back out with my term lab and boom metered 146.6 of the dash drivers side, drivers door open front windows down....yet again they said i somehow faked it lol...then low and behold, 5 min later im banned! haha

im not a cheapskate, im not a nutthugger of ANY company (well maybe a little towards sundown, cant get enough of their subs) i just think people should be honest and not make crap up.

I used to be dirt *** poor, when i got my first system i was 14 and it was a 10" road gear from walmart for like 15 bucks, ran it on a jenson 300 watt amp and blew it. I didnt know crap and couldnt afford crap, i didnt have a car till i was 22. I installed in my moms busted van (****** was out) for years...i would get new stuff and go install it and learn trial by error....began reading, reasearching, asking questions, and the more i learned the more stupid i felt about the mistakes i did make. but now i am pretty well versed on car audio and all things related. Its my passion, but as a poor kid i could afford fosgates, or mtx or cerwin vega (that was the hot sh1t in my day....i couldnt afford good amps either and i remember how it broke my little heart when people made fun of my setup because it was cheap walmart stuff.

But you know what, my cheap walmart stuff sounded better than their expensive fosgates because i knew what i was doing, i built my own enclosure and they all had prefabs, they knew zore about setting gain, hp lp etc....so point of this ridiculously long rant is, not everyone can afford something like an ns1 or m4 so keep that in mind....if they can reach their goal of a buget amp and the amp is decent then why bash it, just say, "its not the best but it works and will do the job, might not last a lifetime or be .5 ohm stable but it will push your fosgate p2 just fine!"

everyone on here just gets so pissed when any says anything at all good about an amp under $500.

Theres only one brand i absolutely hate and thats hifonics....(brands like legacy, pyrimid, etc i dont even consider amp lol) Hifonics gets waaaay too much hype and their amps are crap, ive seen sooooo many go up in smoke even on good elec.

anyways, im gonna get back to work....boring the **** outta you guys im sure, you can tell i dont get to talk to many people lol

i just wish these forums would go back to helping people instead of bashing them with opinions not facts....fact is all amps are diff, even the best amp will have a bad one eventually and some bad ones will have a good one...ish lol. just keep in mind peoples goals when they are asking about a budget amp...now if they are lookin for 160 burps then by all means, bury them!

As much as I love SS, and being sponsored at one point I'd say I was a nuthugger, I think my current Sundown SAZ3000d's n my CRX are light years ahead of the four Rubi 2500d's I had in my RSX in both quality and output. For the price they can be had for, I think they are a great purchase option. I can buy 2 maybe 3 used ss2500d's for the price of a single used saz3000d....

If I had the choice, and I obviously do since I went from the four SS 2500d's (to two SS XXX6500d's) to two SAZ3000d's - give me the Sundown. They are not as cheap as the Audiopipe stuff, but they are not God's gift to 2500 watt amplifiers either. Both have gotten me to .5 ohm, and even .25 for roll burps at spl shows and testing at home, too. Maybe I'll get this Rubi 2500d fixed that is sitting here, and put it against my saz3000d. 1 ohm and .5 ohm. I still see the Sundown being .5 - 1db louder on my TL....
