True But Cmon I Can Do The Same Thing And Talk Bout Shit I Have Done And Sell A Million Alubms Then Correct? And The *** George Im Not A Thug Or Atkleats Thats Not Wat I Try 2 Portray And No I Dont Think All Southern Rapprs Are Good 90% Of Dem Are Garbage
if your lucky enough and, mr rich record executive picks you off the street and offers you a deal then yes...do you look like a thug? are you marketable? if so, you might have a chance in the current industry.

edit: dont get me wrong i got pride as well, and plenty of it. but just cause i got pride in my heritage doesnt mean i think all my people are great. thats like having a white guy say all white people are good people, or a black guy saying all black people are good people. i take every person for what they are... a person. and if they prove they're a POS they get treated like a POS, if they are trustworthy, they get treated with respect because they are trustworthy, and not cause they are "my people". im glad you think 90% of rappers are garbage, at least i can agree with that.

the tallent in mainstream rap today is all behind the scenes.
True True

And to you no you probably can't do what Jeezy does he was pretty well known before he even hit the rap scene he's High in BMF and a known steet cat. you can be a street cat but i doubt your major like that. It's all about credibiality these days and swag

and you are gonna believe a rapper? they sell you their lyrics, they are meant for you to believe. they talk about having 4 18's in their system with 32" rims and how their system hits so hard it breaks windows of the vehicle next to theirs, but it wont break theirs...hmmm, lets put them on a TL...better yet, put them on a lie detector and lets see how true their lyrics are.

Also wll as ar as rims go its true, and if you were a rapper and was describing you system beating how else could you put it to let your fans feel how your beat is? What are you gonna ay it vibrated my dash or cup holders? Gotta compare so they can picture it. And If i know for a fact they are real then yeah ill believe but commercial rapper will never get play in my deck.

QUITTE FRANKLY U CAN STFU I LOVE THE SOUTH AND ERE THING ABOUT IT IM SO NEW ORLEANS I THINK MY BLOOD IS BLACK AND GOLD AND IF U CANT HAVE PRIDE IN WHERE YOU FROM THEN HOW CAN U APPREACIATE THE THINGS U HAVE GAINED AND I DONT BANG WAYNE B/C HE IS FRM N.O.
WHY ARE YOU TYPING LIKE THIS????

And i dont need to hear on every track where someone is from. Most people aren't gonna forget. Most people don't have A.D.D. so theres no purpose to repeat. I know some people who came out of decent neighborhoods and came up big, so whats the difference between comin from the ghetto? You still have to struggle. I guarantee the person who came out of a normal neighborhood trying to start their own business and making it huge had a much tougher time than someone living in the ghetto trying to rap and become big like that. Owning a business and running it properly takes more of an investment, alot more talent and skill, and is much more difficult than knowing how to say a few words. Just cos you came out the hood doesnt mean your hardcore and you struggled and that makes you better. People live in nice areas and get beat by parents, ignored by parents, etc, get made fun of....and they become successful. I give props to those people.

Oh god, I hate when people bring up record sales.

Let me ask you guys this.. how many of you people have even HEARD of Pharoahe Monch? Tech N9ne? Rakim? Lol. You guys think Wayne is so great, but you've probably haven't heard anybody far better than him, like I have.

Rap today is embarassing, it's the worst it's ever been.. and if Lil Wayne wants to claim he's the best right now, then that's just embarassing too.. because of how terrible the state of rap is right now.

I love music from the South, but i'm not going to listen to trash from the south, like Lil Wayne. I'll listen to the likes of Z-Ro, Trae, T.I., Bun-B, Slim Thug.. and others.

PLEASE PLEASE DONT GIVE ME THE RECORD SALES ARGUMENT.
if you wanna aruge record sales then shit lets get

nsync

backstreet boys

britney spears

into this conversation too. just cause your record sales are huge doesnt mean your good at what you do.

"Technique chemically unstable, set to explode

foretold by the dead sea scrolls written in codes

so if your message ain't shit, **** the records you sold

cuz if you go platinum, it's got nothing to do with luck

it just means that a million people are stupid as ****"

end of thread
???? What does that have to do with anything i was talking about?

Nah jeezy just tells it how it is Jeezy is real all day and he tells you in all his first mixtapes and album he's not a rapper and can give a shit what anyone thinks about his lyrics, and still alll i can say is look at his record sales
ummm, you dont remember this? unless you meant they're in the shittier. i wouldnt know, he sucks. not to mention ive never looked at anyones record sales to tell you the truth. but if you meant that they are takin a dump, then my post has no relevance.

you are taking what i said out of context when i said that it wasnt directed towards me or anybody else comming from the 'hood' or 'ghetto' it can be with any thing all i was sayin is how can u appreaciate sumn and not realise where u came frm and wat it took to get you where u are.

Good choices, and plenty of people have heard of those rappers just not alot of people like them as i was saying before don't really relate to what they spit but as far as what they do spit it' s pure knowledge there real with it just don't deliver how most people prefer to hear it.

So.. I guess people prefer the dumbed-down version of hip-hop? Such as Lil Wayne's elementary delivery? I see I see.

Me? I prefer the way Rakim, JR Writer, Monch, Tech, and other rappers with lyrical talent, deliver it. With SKILLS.

If I want to listen to somebody being Gangsta, and talk about REAL LIFE $hit, then i'll listen to Trae. Dude is as real as it gets in Rap.

Yeah because i was saying he himself was telling people he wasn't a rapper and that he can GIVE a SHIT if you don't like his lyrics, but he still sold over a million...not thats he's good because of his record sales
ok, immortal techniques quote still applicable...

i wish Gauntlet still visited this website
