Thoughts on Dynamat

Both the higher end second skin and dynamat cover about 12-13 square feet for a door pack with 4 sheets. My question now is, should I put two layers on the inside AND outside per door, thusly needing 4 sheets and 4 door packs or is 1 layer on the inside and outside of each door enough? I know more is better in this case but if it costs double the money for a minimally better gain with a second layer on each door, it might not be worth it to me especially when I have to do the trunk too. Im not building a competition car, I just want to make a sweet ride for me to enjoy.
EDIT: I just thought of something else. If I cover my trunk with the mat, can I still get to me spare? Its below the trunk liner laying flat. I have to drive home from school periodically and it would **** to have to rip through my dynamat to get to my spare or risk being stranded in the middle of nowhere for hours.
I guess it is prefrence. Maybe start off with what you have and test it out to see if you need more? I know is a headache to have to go through all that mess again, but if it saves you money, than I would go that route. I am trying my fatmat after people say it is no good and hey, maybe it is a waste, but gonna try it out in spaces to see if it helps and I like it. If not, I will try another product. Time consuming yes, but I would be happier taking steps to see how it works out.

As far as your spare goes, just take it out and lay some underneath the spare tire. Then slap it back in there. Me, I don't have one, cause majority of my amps, crossovers and 1 Kinetik battery is back there, so I would be uber screwed if I get a flat. Then again I have triple A and they have extras they bring if you let them know, just have to pay for that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

lol holy crap, nice video

Yeah I decided to use second skin because according to what people here have said and sound deadener showdown, its just as good as dyna but maybe 60% as expensive. Unfortunately no EBAY damplifier sales so ill have to pay full price :p

Ok so my final theory is this, please comment and critcize as necessary.

Damplifier Pro for the inner and outer layers of the door, ideally 2 layers for each part, meaning ill need 4 door packs for all of the doors. Then I will add Overkill Pro (closed cell foam) in one layer over the inner door panel. Am I right in thinking this will 100% REPLACE the moisture barrier from the door (aka I take it off and discard that)?

correct...seal the door with deadener

What exactly is the deadener? Is that the overkill or is that a seperate product? Or do you mean to put the overkill sandwiched on the inner door between two peices of damplifier, and the damplifier which covers the inside of the door is the moisture guard?

the sludge is messy as hell, and thier roll on deadener is pretty thin.
as far as the spare tire, of course you can get your spare out your just essentially putting a layer of something over the metal not covering the spare area with it.
Sludge is not an Edead product

Sludge is a Second Skin product. A thicker version of Spectrum, our water based vibration coating.
