Thoughts on Dynamat

lol, for the money it costs to do double or triple layer of that stuff, you can just use that and put one layer of the decent stuff on.
Yeah, but didn't take that into consideration till after I bought it and seen the Rudy guy post about it. I read good things on fatmat from only a couple people and for the money I didn't think I could lose. Well we will just have to see I guess.

lol not a problem, im just glad it got some attention

Ok so basically it sounds like dyanmat IS worth the money, but that I should consider raamatt because its the same thing but potentially cheaper? Im not TOO concerned about the money, and since im only doing 4 doors and the trunk I think I might just get the dynamat extreme so its self adhesive and ive got less of a chance of messing it up. Fatmat sounds thin and cheap, but is raamatt really as good? Is this the official site for it:

Yes its well worth the dough. Not quite Dynamat Extreme thick but very effective. I have 2 rolls here now and got more to go. Rick is real cool and will take care of ya. FatMat sucks! If I still had my Bonnie I'd show ya!

Four doors and the trunk is a lot more than you think if you do it right. IDK what you mean about Dynamat being self adhesive -- rammat is as well.

I have dynamat extreme all in my trunk. IMO it works awesome. Extremely easy to apply. When i pop the trunk the lid doesnt even pop up. I would apply double layers wherever u get lots of rattles tho. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well I meant that dyanmat extreme was self adhesive while dynamat "original" (READ: cheap) takes some kind of heating according to the official site.

Ok ill check out secondskin too.

On the RAAMmat site they have a roll for $100, how many doors does a roll do? Their site only has 2 products on it instead of the subdivided catagories like dyna

You can measure area right? Put the imaginary square around your door with a tape measure do the math and 2 layers on the outer skin and inner. If your gonna do a good job.

Both the higher end second skin and dynamat cover about 12-13 square feet for a door pack with 4 sheets. My question now is, should I put two layers on the inside AND outside per door, thusly needing 4 sheets and 4 door packs or is 1 layer on the inside and outside of each door enough? I know more is better in this case but if it costs double the money for a minimally better gain with a second layer on each door, it might not be worth it to me especially when I have to do the trunk too. Im not building a competition car, I just want to make a sweet ride for me to enjoy.

EDIT: I just thought of something else. If I cover my trunk with the mat, can I still get to me spare? Its below the trunk liner laying flat. I have to drive home from school periodically and it would **** to have to rip through my dynamat to get to my spare or risk being stranded in the middle of nowhere for hours.
