Thoughts on Alpine PDX as Main amp?

I have the opertunity to pick up an Alpine PDX- 4.100 amp at a good price. I keep reading great things about these digital amps but note they are digital and have a S/N ratio of only 76 db. Should the fact that it's a Class D make me cautious about using one as the main source of power for my componets.

Thoughts on this specific amp for use on comps?

p.s. I guess I should note that this amp appeals to me allot for it's small footprint. Space is tight in my truck.

The PDX series are amazing.I have both the 1000.1 and 150.4.I am exteremely impressed .I run 2 'R'12's in a slot ported enclosure, and a variety of type 'R' 6.5 co-ax and components, besides the small footprint, the digital-D-class amps are very clean.I was skeptical at first,I was using the 550-f 4 channel A/B class with the mrd-1005 one -channel mono block digital 1000 watt rms @ 2 ohm(both Alpine).I 've run the JLw6's/the new 12/w3-3 and now the 12" type 'R'.This new all Alpine system is simply amazing! My new pdx 1000.1 came with a birthsheet of 1289 watts rms..That is at 2ohms or 4 ohms.Very similar to my old JL1000/1 RIPS current set-up.Worth every penny...............Alpine50..
