Resonating Reticular
On March 28th, this guy approached me on this forum, a local guy who, until I decide on a later date, will remain nameless. He asked me if I was able to build him a box. I agreed, and I drew up a design, he liked it, and told me to go ahead. I buy the wood, build the box, and he was supposed to pick it up that day. I didn't hear from him. I find out a few days later (roughly 2) that he got scammed by another member of this sight, and he didn't have the money now. I said it was no problem, and I could keep the box for as long as he needed. Which, is the truth. I would have. He then called me two times, and said he was going to pick up the box and give me the money for it. Both times, he never came, or even called or texted me.
I understand things happen. However, the right thing to do is at least give me the money so that I don't come out in the negative. It's coming up on a month, which is just ridiculous for anyone. Anyone with a steady job could come up with the measly $70 bucks that he owes me, if not $30 for the wood, and I could just take the time spent and my personal materials used (I.E. Glue, saw blade deterioration, etc.) as a loss.
Most people will say "FIND WHERE HE LIVES AND BEAT HIS ***!" That won't solve anything. Unless I'm gunna steal his car... and that's a felony. I'm not going to jail over spilled milk.
Someone suggested to me that I take it to small claims court. Does anyone have information on this? I figure I'd give him to the 28th of April before I take legal action. Even though our original verbal contract was expired at least 2 weeks ago.
Like I said, at this point I'd take the $30 dollars to cover the price of wood and call the rest a loss.
Thoughts & Opinions.
