im scavenging for the forums for 2way alarm info right now. i have 7 different windows open with threads lol.
i have no a/c so bumping with the windows down is a must. ts been chilly, but i find my system is louder with my right window down about half way, so thats how i listen to it when its cold out.haha yeah..must get pretty loud outside the car..do u bump with the windows down alot?
yeah it happens...hope nobody tries to jack my AQ when i get it LOL..i have no a/c so bumping with the windows down is a must. ts been chilly, but i find my system is louder with my right window down about half way, so thats how i listen to it when its cold out.
also:
1) 99% of the time, my system is only turned up on the freeway
2) system is off a few minutes prior to hitting my exit (at 60mph this means 3-4 miles, and i usually drive about 80 or so)
3) never have i bumped around my neighborhood
4) my friends are all good with me, they have systems that i have installed for them, so they have no reason to back stab me, and i only hang out with 3 or so people that i have known for years.
somehow i still got screwed.
ive been looking at that alarm as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, seems pretty good from what people are saying. My '04 Blazer got broken into on campus on Halloween along with a few other cars, about 9 total. They busted everyone's windows but mine, instead for me they decided to pry underneath the passenger side door handle and leave me a nice hole in my door. They stole my subs, box, amp, secondary battery and ripped out my HU. And the only thing insurance covered was my HU, but now I have special coverage. The police though it was amazing that they didn't even damage the lock on the passenger door. You could still shut it and lock it and it worked. I now have a Viper 5900SST lying in my room that I need to get installed. Factory alarms don't do $H!T. I'm glad they didn't get any of your stuff and be glad they just busted out your window and didn't put a hole in the door.
I had a Viper 791XV on my old car and it was great so I figured this time around I'd just go ahead and get the 5900SST for the bonus range. That way if something is happening to my car and I can't see/hear it, my little pager will tell me. I don't trust any of the people that work around my dorms (janitors, maintance, etc) because they all drive big white vans. Plus how do people break into 9 cars, busting windows and hawling stuff out of people's cars (such as my sub box which had 2 heavy @$$ 12" subs and a big Kicker KX850.2 on the back), and don't get noticed. I don't trust any of them and am now driving a totaly stock car to college. Guess I should have listened to my brother and parents when they told me to take all of it before I went. But you know as they say, hindsight is 20/20.ive been looking at that alarm as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, seems pretty good from what people are saying.
i know you feel about the door. my buddy's ranger was being broken into, and they bent the whole lock like almost out of the door. his neighbor saw it and ran after them, and they jumped into a big *** white van and took off. he sold the car shortly after that but of course was left with a deformed *** door.
