sorry for the long post, i just kinda need a place to tell my story.
close call for me today. went out to my car to go drive down to the air port to pick up my gf who spent a few days in nashville with a friend. i usually park my car in the apt parking spots. but of course, there were none last night, as is usual if i get home after 11pm or so (i try to get their early so i can snag one).
so as im getting to my car, i notice that there is something on my subwoofer box, and also that my subwoofer box seems to be rather misplaced from where it usually is (i can see it form the outside of the car as im geting closer). i look up a bit, and notice, my rear passanger side window is smashed. luckily for me, i see my kicker kx2500.1 and my HDC315 still attached to the box. so i immediately have a sigh of relief. i then remember i have my RF speaker amp thats attached to the side of the box facing the window, so of course im like "****, at least they only got the speaker amp". i walk around, and low and behold, the **** thing is still there. im kinda thinking you gotta be joking me. what kind of thief doesn't bring a screw driver with them? ****ing amateurs (which is a blessing in reality lol) i swear. amps were held to the box with 4 teeny screws each. they pulled some wires out of the terminals of the kicker, and i guess they thought they were going to lift a 150lb box (with the sub and amps attached) out of the side window, which isnt even big enough to fit the box out of.
they didnt take my cd's, my $220 DMM, my backpack, any papers, didnt damage my subwoofer. nothing. they didnt even bother trying to get into the car, as all my doors were closed. they could of easily opened the hatch to get my shit...yet didnt. all i have to fix now is the window and my wiring and to make sure they didnt damage my amps while ripping shit out of them. i dont remember what my comprehensive deductible is for my car, but we'll see as to whether i want to deal with insurance or just get it fixed my self.
i learned a big lesson. dont be so naive as to think not bumping in your neighborhood will guarantee your systems safety (thats me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif). and ****, i really need a paging alarm instead of this rinky dink factory one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif i would of loved to crack a head or two.
