Well my A5 went down yesterday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Hard to believe I know. She went into protect and there was nothing I could do to save her. Diagnosis is unknown at this point.

Lucky for me I bought the amp from Adam Paulus at Club X to C in Gleason, WI. I called him up, descirbed the problem, and he is going to swap a new one out for me at HIS convenience!! Actually, he offered to hand deliver the amp to my doorstep. Great person to do business with - highly recommeded - treats the customer like a king. Plus his prices are nice too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

**** dude...great to hear you are being taken care of.

Any clue as to why it did this? Does it get very hot/gone into protect on you before? Running 1ohm on the sub?

i talk to fox about this yesterday and he said he did every trouble shooting method possible and couldn't conclude to anything. also what was funny is that his whole system is made of unauthorized equipment except for the A5. haha, how lucky is that.

Kenny pretty much summed it up. I've had it since x-mas time and it has performed flawlessly. The sub channel was pushing a 2 ohm load and it would get a little warm but never hot. The fronts were either running tweets or mids.

I was literally driving down the street and my tweets and sub went silent. I initially though it was the power feed because I blew a fuse a few weeks ago because the power wire actually fell out of the fuse next to the battery. But I checked continuity and it was good. All fuses good. Nothing shorted. I swapped my A3 for the same B+, RTL, and grnd and noting but red light. I actually did this about 3-4 times and it still went into protect immediately. I did pop the cover off and take a look and everything looked okey dokey. So I really don't know what the issue is.

Nonetheless, I am being taken care of in grand fashion by Adam. I'm one lucky mofo as kenny mentioned as that is the only warrantied piece in my system ***knock on wood***

I did have my MBQ raa2400 on standby for the mids. But when I swiched the A3 to them I did notice a nice improvement in kick...even at 25% less power. These DLS Utimates are the real deal Hollyfield.

How do you like the midbass licks with the lotus? I am looking at a pair of rw165's for my project. I LOVE the aura's but just cannot quite get the midbass I want in the tc out of them for some reason. They were perfect in my truck but not working well in the tc... mabey becuase the doors have about 3x the airspace in them who knows.... Anyways lemme know!

if you looking for midbass, the performance mids have more output in the lowend than the refs, in general. of course a lot of it is install dependent.

Best mids I have used so far to tell you the truth. Reason being...

1) The have more of a full sound to them.

2) The midrange is clearer, but a bit barky in some instances...as opposed to laid back.

3) They can be LP at 2.5khz with a steep slope and really snap!!

4) The build quality is top notch....cast basket, heavy magnet, screw down terminals.

Yes, like Kenny mentioned, they do exibit a bit more low end then the Ref's....at least that's what I've read.

Oh and they are a pretty sensitive driver so you don't need a ton of power to get them thumpin!!
