This? Or Sealed? Or 2 Sealed?

I agree, for sq a couple IDQ's sealed are great. I have two IDQ 10's in a sealed box and they can get way louder than a good sq set up will ever need. I have them mellowed down quite a bit.

i guess the question i was asking was should i put 1 IDMAX 12 in a sealed box, a ported box, or 2 IDMAX in a sealed box or a ported box?

i am looking for an SQ setup and do not plan to ever make it loud enough to damage my hearing

staggering amount of replies. my choices:

1) ported box correctly tuned to 1 IDMAX v3 12"

1b) sealed box correctly tuned to 1 IDMAX v3 12"

What is the best option here for SQ? i don't plan to turn it up loud enough to damage my hearing. Anyone?

If this is really your goal, there is no sense in spending the money on IDMaxes. Just buy a pair of IDQs and seal 'em up.

Now if you already have the IDMax, throw it in a low-tuned ported box. That will get you some extra ouput, and will still sound very nice.
