ive got a friend whos system shut off, and he asked me to look at it. When i slid his box out, i saw the amp was in protection mode. I figured with that in mind, something had become disconnected, cause i know the ohm load on the not too low. I unplugged and re plugged in all the wires one by one to locate the problem, and it turned out to be the rcas. With them disconnected, the power light came on, but the thing thats got me confused, is why its the rcas. There is one set of outputs in the amp. one red, one white. the rcas are black and red. I tried only plugging 1 of the rcas in, and it worked when the black wire was in by itself, but not when the red one was in by itself. So i figured the red one was damaged or something, but when i put the black wire in the red output on the amp, it still didnt work. so my last attempt to figure this out was to put the red wire in the white output on the amp, and then it turned on. SO to sum it up, it doesnt matter which rca wire i used, the white output on the amp worked, but the red one did not. So now im wondering if it is still the actual wire, or if it is a problem with the amp. Anyone have a thought on this?
