never really got on this site till this year. I've been into car audio for 10 years now though.wtf were you when I was living up in STP making boxes all day?
It looks like you had your dog chew on it till it was small enough to come out. Next time use a sawzall. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifAnd here is a shining example of why they are not practical for vehicles. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif
Then again practicality doesn't factor in on my car audio installs.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif
Own a sawzall, circular saw, jigsaw, hand saws you name it....tried them all...hammer ended up being the most effective method....also the most fun with the added bonus of less sawdust in my ride.It looks like you had your dog chew on it till it was small enough to come out. Next time use a sawzall. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
that is a horn they have a few types but this is the most common..some or not rear loaded but they are quite hard to design in car..
Please take note and everybody stop ******* calling a bass reflex box with a flared port a horn.
This is all.
It's Decaware's Wicked One. Free plans are online somewhere.I think I've seen plans for that box before and I believe it is more similar to a horn than not.
I wouldn't. I've dabbled with horn loaded enclosure before and it's just too much of a pain. Like someone mentioned earlier, you have such a low end increase in car you just wind up with a huge enclosure to awe at. The only way I think it's beneficial is if you're using really small woofers and very low power.would anyone recommend building a small horn for an 8" sub for use in a car? or would the benefits not outweigh the size of a horn?
