This guy is annoyed, is my amp glitchin or soemthing

I cant get this stupid amp to function. Its a Visonik V4000XD @ 1ohm

The thing is that the volume CUTS out @ higher volume (but still less than 1/2 volume on the HU), just cuts out, then plays for 1 second, then plays 2 seconds, cuts out for 3, etc. My 2 component amps work and play just fine, just the sub amp cuts

At first I thought it might be my voltage, was dipping low 11's, so I went and grabbed some more batts (needed a bank anyways). Voltage is perfect @ 14.8 charging, 12.7 with the car off.

So I hook it all up again and the stupid thing still cuts out, so I thought maybe my gain was to high, turned it to zero, barely had bass at all, turn it up... cuts out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad:

Then I thought it may be rcas, so I swapped em with my other amps rca's, no dice

Voltage is good when bumpin, doesnt go below 12.5, but the thing barely plays anything at the levels it used to and its killing me here!!

I dont know much about amp internal functions, but is there something on my board that could cause this?

Only option Ive got left is to maybe pulled the soundstream 2kd out of my crx and see if that works on my wiring

we had a concept ccd2400 do that, couldnt for the life of us figure it out, no voltage problems, 1 ohm load on a 1 ohm stable amp...

in for an answer. good luck.

Ya well Im the idiot that didnt push the system a little harder before doing final hookup. I ran all the wiring, turned it on to make sure it worked, worked fine @ min volume. So I prettied everythign up, zip tied, hidden wires, beauty panels etc. Now its just a ***** to find the problem.

Especially when I have to drive to my other car just to remove the same type of install just to check something!!! argh argh argh, car audio bites sometimes....

But bangs soooo clean

So Im thinkin its either amp outputs or amp going into voltage protection and not throwing the protect light (if its supposed to)

I hooked up a Cadence wild beast SVC 4ohm to the visonik, free air, gains way low, once the volume passed almost 1/2, the sub stopped moving.....

Then I went and grabbed my soundstream picasso (2000 @ 1ohm) and hooked it up temp in the back of my car, power and ground straight to the rear batt bank, used the same speaker connections my visonik was using and the same rca's...... and the subs played BEAUTIFULLY, all the way upto max volume...

BUT

That 2k rms draw + the 1k rms from my mids, had my voltage gauge reading 10.9-11.2 @ 3/4 volume (where my gains are set to).

Pretty low, and Im sure my visonik pulls more current than this little amp, but the gauge was very consistent in its readings. When I have the subs hooked upto the visonik, the voltage gauge is all over the place, and being as it makes twice the power, Im thinking my voltage drops to low and the amp quickly protects before the gauge even flashes anything under 11.5 volts....

So.... sub output, or probly voltage??
