This car FTW?

carfax, and take it to a trusted mechanic first. if she really wants to sell she will shave that off the top to get it checked out just for safety reasons for you and your girl. u dont want to be driving something that the brakes will go out when u hit your first hill. chance are that the women took well care of it. but i dont think some old women is gonna know hop out of the car put out fire. she probably ran circles around it screaming till the fire went out.

I dont know whether were going to get it or not, she really likes it but once we go and look at it well know for sure. The engine fire is no big deal as long as it didnt like melt the carb or anything, ill see if i can start it before buying it, replacing the brakes and bushings and other things is no big deal, i can do just about anything i need to to a vehicle.

We have also been looking for a decent honda, etc. But cant find much else right now thats low mileage or priced good. We also found an 87 firebird with 60k on it for 2000 were going to check out too.

air filters dont just catch fire. get someone who knows to look at first. and i think 3k is steep for what u will have to pay down the road
A good backfire through the carb will start an air filter on fire...unfortunately I've gotten to witness that.

OP, that car is abso-fukn-lutely hideous! Its not a classic, its a big bloated 70's chunk of ugly shit. Look a few years older...

If it hasn't gone up to 20k in 37 years I doubt it will be there in 3 more. Stupid first car if you ask me. I'm sure it will make a great daily driver, and parts should be easy to find //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Yes because it is still in the mint shape it was back then. Stupid ****. Of course when the condition goes down the value would. If it was show-room that would be around a $15-$20K car.

GF just turned 19, she loves the color purple on it too lol. Shes not a stupid ***** like most girls, she actually has common sense. I think itd be a great car to have, because she can drive it and whatever for however long she wants, and ill fix things on it every now and then. If we get tired of it we can throw it on ebay and be done with it.
She might have common sense but she does not have the experience and there-for i would not get her that. But its your girlfriend. I guess if she gets in an accident she'll be the safest in it.

x2, getting a first car thats nearly twice her age, v8 domestic, and had an engine fire isn't exactly the brightest idea. Try a 90's import like Honda, Nissan, or Toyota if you want to be cheap. For 3k you could even get a decent b2000 or S10.
There is nothing wrong with a 60's-70's V8 American muscle car. Now the engine fire is something i wouldnt want to mess with. But the thing about domestics not lasting is a widely known and said bullshit statement. Its all in how you drive it and take care of it. Ive seen toyotas and nissans that couldnt make it to 100K and fords and dodges that have gone past 500K. And the fact that this is an antique muscle car it makes it a pretty good deal. Chargers were one of Dodges best creation.
