This amp too powerful for these speakers ?

a guy from Crutchfield told me I would fry these speakers with this amp :

Infinity Reference 7540a .... 139 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms

powering :

four Infinity Kappa 63.7i 6-1/2" 3-way car speakers

2-ohm impedance

power range: 2-75 watts RMS (225 watts peak power)

suggestions ??

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the install; if the doors aren't very well sealed, probably not.

My point was you don't need to run the amp at full tilt boogie...

And, as everyone else said.....set your gains conservatively and listen for the speakers to begin stressing and you should be good to go.

And no a cap is not necessary.

Would a 4 gauge setup with a 1 fared capacitor be enough?

Or are the big 3 gonna need to make an appearence.
