Don't think of them as nails , even though technically they are . The brads used by brad nailer's are about the thickness of a paper clip. And as was said , they are there to provide some clamping action while glue dries. They aren't a substitute for using clamps though. I still clamp the ever loving poo poo out of everything while the glue is drying.
