I am thinking of trying to get more shows in IL. It will be non sanctioned based mainly towards locals and newcomers to get them interested and to just have fun. Im thinking of 25-30 for entry with either a large cash prize show at the end of a season (in which one would have to accumalte points for) or giving a cash prize at the show and trophy. Trying to figure out a way for dealers not to lose money doing a show so they might want to do more of them. Also looking into doing shows in parks or 4H grounds may cut costs. All classes will be cone area based and as follows:

Street Class

1-160

161-250

251-500

501+

Street Advanced

1-500

501+

Truck Class

0-360

Trunk Class

0-360

Pro Street

1-500

Pro Street Advanced

1-500

500+

Rules

12v only

Street Driven Vehicles

Factory batteries must be located in factory location others must be safely mounted (and fused? still debating on this one) all others must be safely mounted in cargo area

30 seconds to find highest score using term-lab

Hearing protection should be worn if competitor is in the car (hearing protection will be available from judge)if competitor so chooses.

Pro's are considered anyone who works in the 12v industry.

Trunk Class- All equipment must be located in the trunk, seats are allowed to be folded or removed but must remain in the car.

Truck Class- regular and extended cabs only (four door trucks or ext. with walls will be placed in the regular classes, also no blow thru's).

Power wire will be limited in regular street classes to two power and two ground you may have more but can only have two power and two ground connected. (This is for people who compete in other orgs that can use more than this amount).

This is all I have right now. Please I will need some feedback on what you think so I can get this up and running.

Everyone need to get involved and help promote the sport, Hobby, interest (what ever you want to call it)

It’s sad and unfortunate to see things go so far down hill, as they have.

I do a first timers or beginner class at my events; I have score sheets and all if you’re interested

that takes me out... but i'd still show up... my car FTL

I think I know of a park around my area (mt. prospect) that might let us have a show if interested

Glad to see someone trying to bring more shows to the area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif keep us updated.

unbolt the seat back and lay it on the bottom and cut out that wall of useless sheetmetal. If you think it will affect the structural integrity of the car then use an "X" brace made out of 1/4" x 1" strap metal and bolt it in...

I think he's trying to make it so that guys with daily set ups can roll up and compete and have a chance. Appealing to the masses is a smart move as you have a better chance of getting a good turn out.
