Thinking about getting a large dog

Just to let you know, Mastiffs dont normally live past 10 years or so due to their massive size and something with their bone structure... Just something to think about.

Why not get a Pit Bull? They arent too big, but will scare the hell out of an intruder...

my mom's cousin has this rott named maxie, the dog is easily 120 pounds of muscle. it likes to put its paws on ur shoulders and it is taller than me (i'm 5'11")

i hope you have alot of experience with dogs and are really good with aggression training. they are great dogs, but if you have any kind of aggression problem with either dog... it can be dangerous. you cant just smack a 230 lbs. dog in the face and say no bite:crazy: i saw a rott that was not abused but not properly raised and he was only 10 months. at about 100 lbs, he was a very dangerous dog who needs some serious work to break his aggression.

now that i said that, back on topic.

i personally love my boxer as a guard dog. he dose a great job and he can be tough looking too. but if you really want a big mastiff, my personal favorite is the douge de bourdeax

yeah i have plenty of experience with dogs-i worked with some dogs in the military training program plus i've owned a few myself. and if the need ever rises then i also have the guns to take care of the problem. plus i'm 245 myself and bench near 300 so its not like i'm a little guy.

If you are actually interested in having this dog as a companion, I dont think you would suggest shooting it...

i say get a rottie. i got one its about 22 months and is about the biggest they can be registered, 27inches at the shoulder. he is easily the smartest dog i have ever had. He is beefy and real strong but under complete control a rott can be a very good dog. cant go wrong wit a rott. Id post pics if i knew how...

BTw his name is Aiden.
