//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif **** how I hate thiefs! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif I swear it is a good thing I have never caught one of these bastards them or myself would be DOA because I wouldn't stop. It happened while I was staying last night at the GF's place which is a well lit apt. complex and I parked it right under a huge light. I was in a hurry and failed to lock the doors from the looks of things. When I got in this morning I noticed things in shambles but since the GPS, CD's, XM and all were still there I figured they just took quick things. Well went to put the key in and no power. Pop the hood and they snatched my Kinetik battery. They left all the bolts and all but took it. I am amazed they got that far and didn't want to take my box in the trunk but it does weigh a ton and the ***-end was towards the travel area. So I lost a $200 battery and have my stocker on charge now to go back in temporarily. Sucks because I had to miss work and get a ride around, etc... Hard for me to describe the scene here but the car was 100 ft. if that outside the window under a huge light with the front facing right at it (probably most visibility in the entire place) and someone took the time to unhook the whole thing with the hood open. They had to have the exact tools to do the job and be comfortable sitting out in all that light taking it out. I don't go there often and have no idea how they would know I have anything at all in my car. They also got some light change and took a bottle of Drakkar but left the lid. Left a cheaper cologne in the dash as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

So in all I lost $300 to thiefs and my stupidity but in a million years I can't see the boldest of crooks going into that light with as much foot and car traffic as the lot gets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Charging my stocker and putting it back in but all this has me so pissed it will not happen again and I need ideas. I want to secure my box in the trunk somehow so they will have to spend a ton of time and have the right tools to get it out. Same goes for the battery. I was thinking maybe some way of putting a cable with lock on it? Anyone have ideas for firstly securing the battery so they get irritated and give up even if they gain access to the car and secondly how to secure my box. I want it to where although I made it easy by failing to lock the doors they would have given up on trying to get the pieces out. Suggestions?

This reminds me of my last theft all too much! I had an S-10 and that one was also parked under a flood light but doors locked. They broke out the window and cut wires to amp (secured to wall) and tried to pop out HU (needed slide pieces to get out) and got the only thing I didn't have secured which was a 10" IDQ and box. Maybe $100 new but used a bit. Cost me $150 to have a new window put in which I would have rather of given them the **** sub/box than go through all that.

Think if it would have been locked last night they would have windowed it?

just goes to show people dont really care to get involoved. chances are more then one person walked by and did not even question it. if they were smart i would say they acted as if they were working on the car and belonged there.

hmf. that sucks.

someone went into my boys car while it was outside of my house around 8 pm a couple days ago. he doesnt have anything worth taking as far as i know , audio wise. but my truck was less than 10ft from it and has plenty of crap worth money. my amps are bolted down but my box isnt since its so friggen heavy. im scurred my shits going to get broke into now. too bad i cant own any firearm atm...

invest in an alarm?

in the future, lock your car.
It's a 99 of 100 thing. This is the one rare time I didn't! That doesn't always stop them. Someone may have heard the glass if it was locked and they wanted to try but if they are determined it is hard to stop them.

I would have loved to looked out the window and saw them. I would have stabbed first and let 12 sort it out later.

Very good ones! It takes time to get that battery out. It gets bolted at the edges and across the top so it was right tools and plenty of time. I am shocked that is all they wanted but glad.

Can you think of any possible way to lock the battery with a Master lock? Next thief will have to have a plasma cutter to get any of my shit out.

GPS was the only thing visible which they didn't bother. CD's I don't think they saw even when in the car and the Eclipse you can't take the face off or hide. One feature that kind of does **** on it!
