Since we are talking about ugly amps, one has to be pretty bad *** to rock one of these:

i have one of those bro, go **** yourself, it will **** your ******* with underrated awesomeness. the goal of LP isnt aesthetic appeal its function, may look like shit but its "bulletproof"

get a 452 and have ray mod it, you can run an entire car off of it. a friend of mine ran front stage rear stage and an 18 off of 1 452 in the early 90s shit.

No thanks, I'll NEVER own another Linear Power amplifier nor will I ever do business with Ray again!

Edit: Just to let you know that I am not hating Ell Pee out of inexperience with them, I once owned 13 Linear Power amplifiers with 5 of them modified by Ray.

2 - 5002 (One modified)

5 - 1502IQ (Two modified)

2 - 652

1 - LP150 (modified)

1 - 1752 (modified)

1 - 2.2 HV

1 - DPSQ50

IIRC the DPSQ50 went for $750 on eBay and the LP150 sold for $500. Not bad being I only paid $250 for the pair.

They sounded great but lacked balls when I cranked the volume. I made the mistake of thinking the 1752 could power a modern day sub bridged at 8 ohms and it went into protect every time I cranked the volume. The older amplifiers also had noise issues.

The only ones worth a flip were the LP150, 2.2HV, and DPSQ50 because they had no noise issues nor did they seem to lack balls when the volume was cranked.

I actually like it..

Kicker made some ugly azz *** amps I think the KX series they were?? run of the mill spaceship looking crap..

However I love the kicker SS, XS , and ZR lines after that I didn't bother with them too much..

Anyone remember the Flying Saucer looking amps ? I think maybe power acoustic made them...I alo saw a cylinder shaped amp called a tomahawk a couple of years back...a total piece of crap
