You are 100% correct. I think it was 4000w total or a coil and he went from 4 amps to 2 amps for death match. So the statement wasn't a fair one saying run for 5 min with no heat issues. The amps weren't full tilt. Which I don't know if Hugo knew or not. When I talked to Alan he mentioned that he required VERY little power to do the 173 dB score - which is also why he was able to do it for so long. His box design really is very incredible.
Just an interesting bit of information //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Maxxsonics isn't to bad either. AAAHHH who am I kidding you guys are the SHIZZNIT. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifEven though Stetsom is a competitor, I can attest to the fact that there big power amps are very good. They utilise a great system design and board lay-out as well as provide the rated power plus.
I have not heard of any heat related issues myself and I did see Alan Dante run dBdrag Death Match at 173dB? for 5 minutes with no issues. I can't say for sure if the Thermal protection was bypassed or not but I'm thinking not.
Good job on the amps Hugo.
ummmm... i like that kinda power... it makes me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gifVery good read.
While I am not a SPL guy, nor would I EVER need the amount of power you guys are tinkering with, I was still captivated by the conversation.
Please continue.
I'm sure many people are learning a great bit here. No doubt Scarolinablazin did.
