I agree with alot of things what were said. A main contribute to our loss of vaule to the dollar contributes to alot of things. I just feel this 'party' system in place is my main hatred for our political system. Just two years ago Dems where preaching change, and swore by it. Now Repubs are doing the same thing. What I don't understand is how people don't see this a recurring cycle, and frankly, it pisses me off. You have so many people in Washington saying they can do a better job than the other, but in truth, their just as clueless as the other one. This failed state was bound to happen we haven't improved our infrastructure, education, jobs, and etc in how long.

You can't ride the gravy train the entire way, eventually you'll have to switch trains and improve on the one before. Yes having a black man as president is nice, it shows my kids, you can do anything. But to me that 'Aw' factor has worn off. It seems like everything stalled in the 80s, and no one improved from it.

I disagree. Democrats and Republicans ****. Liberals = communists. Conservatives just want the PEOPLE to keep more of their own money and have a smaller government. There are VERY few in office and haven't really been many in there since Ronald Reagan was President because people do not take the time to understand Conservatism.

Communism? Lol. I ask tons of people what that means and they can't even give me a straight answer. Alot of people are uneducated, and they reflect thier opnion off what they see on TV. Which all networks being biased to a certian group, all reporting is tainted or just filtered for thier benefit. I don't trust a d*mm thing really when it comes to politics and reporting.

maybe you dont know what communism is. in short communism is when the government controls everything and everyone shares everything. no extremely rich, no extremely poor, just everyone is poor. also called "wealth redistribution". have you not seen how well it worked out for the Soviet?

@ one time this summer i spent $1.41 a gallon for gas
with bush i was paying $4.00 a gallon for gas

you didnt pay $4 for the whole 8 years. and i never saw it at $4. the most it got around here was almost $3. i know there were several times when i bought gas that was $1.30-$1.40 during his terms too. gas prices will always fluctuate. right now im paying anywhere from $2.60-2.80

Lol!!! Yeah it's too bad George Bush decided to raise the gas prices to 4.00 a gallon. Good thing obama lowered them to a dollar something. HAHAHAHA

TMali, GWB removed the anwr Presidential block. Congress left theirs in place to prevent drilling for oil and to promote "green" energy. To this date there is no such thing as "green" energy. There are only fossil fuels. Wind and solar energy are great, but they are terribly inefficient, wind requires oil, and are not consistent. Burning of coal, and petrolium products, AND NUCLEAR (the greenest of all technologies) are the only REAL solutions to the energy crisis. We have LOTS of oil right here in the US. We know where it is. We need to be going after it. There is NO REASON not to. global warming and climate change was proven to be a hoax a month ago. Doesn't matter anyways because as we go "green" China compensates by burning more and more fossil fuel.... we share the same planet so wtf.

How does this apply to your gas prices? If United States companies were allowed to drill for oil in the United States where there actually IS oil, your gas prices would SHOOT down. The economy would take a turn back up (because people saving money on fuel allows them to have more money to spend on something else and allows them to drive somewhere to spend it.). Drilling for oil, cutting income taxes, and repealing the CRA are the only three things that need to happen to turn our economy around.

That's my point, alot of people make claims put have no theory behind it. It's communism, it's socialism, blah, blah. The type of folks who listen to the media, their politicians, and other forms of information and don't ask why. That's the state I feel us as the American people are at. I do however think Obama is smarter than he looks. The sense that he preaches change but never reforms too much at once. It's a law of power and I think he's trying to play it.

That's not the point I'm trying to make. I know what communism is, and I know it well. It's the illusions idiots have of it is where I'm getting at. Mandating a business, sitting up boundries, and making rules I don't consider communism and in truth it isn't.

Obama hasn't brought about any change. What frustrates me the most is that while he was on the campaign trail, he preached that he would promote government transparency. No more of this shady business with congress spending money behind our backs, right? Wait just a second... During senate negotiations over health care, to get the votes they needed, senators were holding out so that they could get extra money for their constituents and themselves. I don't know if everyone realized it, but the senators were bribing each other in exchange for votes for the health care bill. Then what did Barry say? "That's what it's all about!"

Crooked *** politicians. I have no faith in 95% of them.

It really depends on where the boundaries are. When you take freedoms from the people in order to give the government more power, that is communism. We have seen that consistently with the obama administration. The bailouts and stimulus are making people dependent on government to survive. How many ethnicities in this country are dependent on government? It's communism one step at a time. I don't think it's everyone else that doesn't know what they are talking about. obama may be a smart guy, but he's pushing the wrong plan. His plan can't work. If he was THAT smart he'd know that.

If we are going to discuss oil prices, think about this. We send young Americans over seas every day to protect our foreign oil interests. Every day young American lives are lost to protect our foreign oil interests. Why do we not drill in Anwar? Just in case we might kill some Caribou in the process. Interesting priorities, right?

Now consider another situation, oil drilling off the Florida coast. We have halted any new oil rigs or drill locations off the coast of Florida for environmental reasons... in case we have an oil spill that would endanger the Florida coastal environment. On the surface, that seems reasonable, right? But what I bet you dont know is, the nation of Cuba has leased out oil drilling rights off their coast to... China. China is currently building oil drilling platforms almost within sight of the Florida coast, so they can **** up oil from under the North American continent, ship it to China for processing, and then sell it back to the U.S. market at great profit. You tell me, will China give two shits if they spill oil off the U.S. coast line? More risk than if we did it ourselves, and higher gas prices for the average American, while simulataneously sending huge profits to the country we already are in debt to up to our eyeballs. Interesting priorities again, right?

Americans tend to follow paths of extremism, at the expense of common sense. Feel good measures that, in the end, cut off our own noses. This country needs a big wake up call.
