the sq of w6v2 better than any other?

12w6v2 is an awesome sub. You would not be dissappointed with it......that's all that's really important //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

FWIW, I believe it was Tom Nousaine who said it was the best sub he'd ever tested.

i guess i have just gotten one step closer to my future setup... a ported enclosure. how much of a difference is 3 db anyways. is it really that noticable.

also i have two 12" type r's right now in a sealed enclosure with a little more than its recommended rms (not really mine but i share em wit my bro-he owns em).

would the JL setup be a good upgrade in both sq and spl.

There are tons that can compare to the w6

XXX, Bramha, ID max, Oz matrix Elite, CDT ES, ED A/O, Sound Splitter RLPs, Focal Utopia, Eclipse TI, IDQ, Shiva, Koda, ascendant audio atlas, Avalanche and the list can go on forever. Depending on what exactly you want out the sub. There are tons of lower price subs that really shine in SQ, but may not get as loud, but if its a pure SQ app, then who cares about SPL.

Unreal, you are not telling us or this guy anything new.

If it were up to me, I'd probably stick to w6v2s just like he's doing.

They are GREAT subs and sometimes you can find great deals on them.

I would add the Alumapro Alchemy to your list...although owning both, I can say I like the overall sound of the e12a.22 over the Shiva, but that's why one was a $250 MSRP driver and the other was a $125 MSRP one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was just about to write that when I read this thread.

w6v2's are one of the cleanest I've heard thus far. You wont be dissapointed in it. Im not! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I saw a guy selling an Alchemy 8ohm SVC over on ICIXsound for $100 several months ago...it had a purple cone, would have made the perfect g/f sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sry about reviving this thread but i was just thinking about fiberglassing and putting two 10s behind the wheel wells in a custom fiberglass sealed enclosure with about 1^3ft for each.

so my question is which two 10s could almost equal the sq of one 12w6v2? Here is what i had in mind, 2 SS rl-i 10s. What other subs have amazing sq and are 10s?

also could 10s hit the lows just like a 12 would?

i dont want to just get one 12w6v2 and cause it prolly wont fit in the wheel well and also it wouldnt be symmetrical in the trunk since there is only one sub. i have a thing for symmetrical setups...

Creative Sound SX10 or Koda 10's come to mind...Koda's have been raved about for their SQ.
how would they perform in the spl category compared to the one 12w6v2?

also which are known for there sq: the rl-i's or the rl-p's?
