the sq of w6v2 better than any other?

well now that i have heard that the sq of a w6v2 is very good is it possible to say that it has the best sq of any sub with its recommended sealed enclosure volume along with its recommended rms? lets just assume both setups were in the same car and all other variables were the same.

one other thing that is kind of related is that how would two ED 11 Ov.2 compare to one 12w6v2 spl and sq wise. both setups would have a sealed setup with there recommended rms and enclousure volume. once again all other variables would be the same.

Although the w6v2 IS one of the better SQ subs on the market, it will never be a fact that it is the best.

Installation + Box = more important.

I know its all about the box and installation. thats why i said that we should just keep everything what it is recommended to be.

in each of these configurations the enclosure volume would be the manufacturer's recommended one sealed of course, and given the recommended manufacturer's max rms and all would be controlled by the same h/u at 3/4ths volume up. also all would be in the same vehicle with all the same types of wires. all would use the same amp (one high powered one to satisfy each of the subs rms needs) and the gains would be configured with an o-scope for the most accurate gain setting.

so...

JL 12"w6v2 vs.

idMax 12" (w/e their best sq sub is) vs.

w/e else you think is top notch sq sub (12")

alright just forget about everything...

ima just goin to stick with the JL 12w6v2 with a JL 500/1 amp setup in a sealed box with its recommended volume ect. its not like im going to buy it any time soon so my mind might change (highly doubtful).

SQ is subjective. There is no best. Go listen.

If it were my money, I would definately get something else. There are tons of good SQ subs out there.

i could possibly port it but then i would lose some sq right? i also gain some spl but would it equally trade off? if i gained more spl than the amount of sq i would lose then i probably will go ported but if its and equal trade off then im not goin to do it since i sq is more of a priority for me. besides a w6v2 can get pretty loud in sealed right?

Not if you tune low enough...a 27-28Hz tune would sound great, give you theoretically 3dB in output and I'd challenge you to hear a degradation in SQ.

i had both a ported and sealed 12w6v2 in my truck on an xtant 6.1...i loved the rich punchy bass from the sealed...but i loved the gut wrenching wang i pulled with the port...haha...but im a bass head...id you want pure sq and dont give a flip about the spl...seal that biatch up...but if you want to shart in your pants a little...port it...

there are but there aren't many that can compare to the w6v2's. usually i like to get top of the line stuff whenever i do get something.

besides there is just something with JL that i like so much but i just dont know how to explain it.
