The Saturn: Can't stop there. (Dual 18's upgrade)

It'll hold, Ive ran it through a lot of abuse the last week or so. And with more deadener in the ceiling then less vibration will be getting to the welds etc. Then once I build the ceiling down they'll have more support

Very nice build....just went through it....stole some shit for my build!

I see this thread had replies in my subscriptions folder, yet I see no pics.

I see something wrong with this.

vibration will get to the welds no matter what you do......and even though there is a pic somewhere of all 3 of us (Me, and 2 friends) with a LOT of weight on the roof, and it didnt budge, it still moves a little bit.

Well, the areas that the welds are on are pretty much the most solid points in the ceiling for sure and dont flex any if at all (theyre welded to the main supports for the ceiling along the sides of the car) and very little vibration will be getting to them with 2 layers of tiles everywhere along with some damplifier pro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ah, pics weren't loading on my connection. I see. You probably sealed the tracks and all areas of that sunroof too right?...with some silicone (like GE Silicone Caulk), the epoxy is good to hold but not flexible to seal, and may break loosed quite easily under pressure.

Man who's the badass that hooked you up to get that SPL testing done during your deadening?

lol...

I actually also got some clear/silicone locktite that I put on the track aswell that I didnt mention which dries semi-flexible to help with that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Almost the whole track was covered in it. So far so good

well i gotta say, i just read this entire thread and words cant express how much of a great job you have done, i wasnt sure at first about the whole build but watching it all come together is amazing, only wish i could feel it pound. great work bro keep it up.

Thanks mayn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Im pretty happy with the outcome...just have to get it finished up and looking better, im thinking about finishing it off in a black flekstone or something

Ive been thinking about doing basically a large, kerfed horn in the saturn from the rear deck (port) upto the front of the enclosure and walling it off there. Id probably gain a bit of effective port length doing it but it shouldnt be a horrible amount since it'll be such a large horn.

I just thought itd get louder and a bit easier imo than pulling the rear window to glass the rear deck all perfect and a good bit of work back there.

Thoughts/comments/concerns? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
