The Saturn: Can't stop there. (Dual 18's upgrade)

Yep, it came in right before I headed to the comp with a buddy and just set it aside to put in tonight (which it is).

definitely got louder but not quite as loud as I was hoping off the bat. It'll be a nice gain tomorrow but I'll need to seal off the trunk and other stuff until I can get some real gains in.

Some pics of the sub coming in and it mounted.

More pics tomorrow when it's light out and some of the comp along with some TL scores //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Nice to see this coming together. What are you anticipating, db wise????
178 or so (@18Hz)...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But realistically I think around a 149 maybe a 150 tomorrow...but with the trunk wide open it may screw me over on the meter...guna have to get that sealed

Thanks guys and it looks like I was pretty spot-on with my prediction.

Qualified with a 149.7 @ 40Hz and then a 150.0 @ 41Hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Im kind of surprised on the peak frequecies and such but I did loose a good amount of airspace inside the car and things changed...but I was expecting a bit lower on the peak.

The first score was with everything like in the pics and the trunk wide open...the 150 was after I added a 55yrd roll of duct tape to the rear deck and sides of the box to try and seal it off better from the cabin. So all in all im pretty darn happy with it but I know it's going to get louder once I truely seal everything off and finish this up...which will take longer than making the enclosure probably because im going to take it a bit easy on this setup for a while and regain the money I put into it for a while.

Pics in a bit of the comp (no pics of the TL screen or anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif) and the duct-tape job, lol.

Starting on the duct tape..

Hopefully I'll grab some cans of expanding foam and start sealing up the rear deck and sides of the enclosure. Then I may be needing to have my rear window taken out if I want to body filler and sand smooth the rear deck area...we'll see.

Thanks man, im pretty pleased with it so far. It really hits the lows and is a good leap louder than my sinle 18 setup already...once I seal everything off and finish it up it'll be a good chunk louder I'd say.

Very nice.. like this build alot. The TL #'s are nice also. I would assume you'll see a lower peak freq once those subs loosen up a little. Were those #'s with the drivers door open?
Yea, thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. And the scores are all sealed up on the dash
