The right amplifier for my sub.

Just discovered that the prices in Sweden are like 30-50% more expensive than in the states. So I took a hard look into some good mono amps for my subwoofer. JBL Power 12" (P1220E 400/1600) The older version with one voice-coil.

Some amplifiers I've been looking into are Alpine PDX-1.600 and the JBL BPX-500.1

Alpine PDX-1.600

RMS Power Output:

4 ohms: 600 watts x 1 channels

2 ohms: 600 watts x 1 channels

JBL BPX-500.1

RMS Power Output:

* 4 Ohms: 237 watts x 2 chan.

* 1 Ohms: 674 watts x 1 chan.

* 4 Ohms Bridged: 718 watts x 1 chan.

I have never heard any JBL amplifiers before, except the cheaper ones. The Alpine however delivers lots of power aswell as great sound quality.

Now I was hoping to get some advice here, it's not easy to pick one of these amps. Both look good aswell as great brands when it comes to quality.

Was just hoping for some advice, tips. I know someone here must have an Alpine PDX amp aswell as an JBL Power amp.

But lets make it easier. Alpine or JBL?

Sure is, wonder if its true 600WRMS though. One of my mates had this MDS Twelvehundred Mono Amp which was supposed to give approx. 1200WRMS @ 1Ohm, but sadly was beaten with older MTX 4-channel amps (4x100WRMS) ;>

So you mean, I'll get alteast 600WRMS, genuine wrms?
