i always hear people say

"mathematically its true, but in the real world, its different"

this got me thinking, if, mathematically something is considered correct, but the real world experience doesn't match the numbers, then isnt the math wrong? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Math can't be wrong. Like regal8r said, its a matter of the 'real world' being much more complex than theory usually simplifies it down to. This is especially prominent in mainstream economics

u confused me just now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
you never heard people say that "theoretically", or "on paper", or "mathematically" something is correct (ie: twice the power or twice the cone area is suppose to gain 3db in the audio world, and whatever math was used to prove that) but then the real world experience doesnt match the math that says so?

make sense?

yea i agree with the variable thing that dude said

i dont see how the math cant be wrong. yes i understand what you're getting at, but in my mind if something is suppose to be something, and it isnt, then how can it be something when obviously its not? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

This is a problem confronted in economics a lot. Basically, you're just trying to break down certain pieces of a puzzle in order to gain an understanding for the whole.

if the mathematical equation that was used to prove something isnt accounting for the variables, then how can it be right in the first place?
damn i need to get some of that cali shit youre smokin on lol

well yeah. since you used theoretically as a interchangeable word with mathematically, then it makes sense.

The idea is that you can logically come to a conclusion, but there will be added hurdles or variables when applying it in reality.

I don't know of a real theoretical idea that doesn't have some sort of basis for it, obviously if it didn't, it wouldn't even be worth considering realistically.

its not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

but when the equation was founded, it was because variables were not accounted for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
