Im watching worlds wildest police videos... cops try to pull over a miata and hte guy runs. He ends up spinning out and hitting a parked car, throws it n reverse and hits a cruiser, then hits another car and ends up doing a 180... anyways as hes doing the cop jumps 20 feet in front of him with his gun and the dude is basically sliding out of control and the cop shoots him in defense that the guy was trying to run him over. If he hadnt jumped infront of a fishtailing car he wouldnt be in risk of getting hit. He couldve just slammed the guy with his crown vic and had him boxed in. Im not defending the guy, but the cop shouldnt have killed him.

With all of the coverage police chases get nowadays and the fact that fleeing motorists are shot and killed on occassion. I know that if I decide to run I am taking my life into my own hands. Running from police is a risk to you the cops and everyone around you. Take the ticket or parole violation and LIVE. This guy being taken out is just thining the shallow end of the gene pool. Another aspect that gets little coverage is the affect of taking a life has on the officer that had to make that decision. They are people too and contrary to popular belief most of them have a conscience.

Whatever, OP is right. That's BS. If you were riding around, and someone crashed into your car. And if you got out with a gun and the guy freaked and tried to run, and you shot him, could you claim he tried to run you over and get away with it?
That's, at best, a completely oversimplified analogy to the situation. Really, your "story" and the situation at hand two entirely different things.

As to the original post....without seeing the video and having more actual information (as opposed to someone's post on an internet forum) I can't say whether or not I agree. But the simple fact of the matter is that if the guy hadn't ran in the first place, he'd still be alive (if he was in fact killed). So who's really to blame here ?

Sooo.... A guy running from the police, hits an innocent person, then hits a police cruiser, and tries to run an officer over... yeah, no sympathy for the fuking idiot. You're a moron.

Awesome. One less douchebag that thinks running is the answer. Fcuk him and his Miata. Better he is dead then a family of 4 on their way home from soccer practice.

Totally different situation. Not sure if you were trying to validate the OP's sentiment, but you failed. Please stop making up situations that have nothing to do with the post.

In the situation above, it depends on the state laws and applicable weapon permit rules. If the guy "runs" and is driving toward me in an effort to run me over, regardless of his intentions I would opt for him to die before me. No question. If he just ran, I would let the cops deal with him.

Personally I would not have jumped out of my car with a gun. For one, it is illegal unless your life is being threatened. This would give the other driver incentive to protect himself from danger I was presenting him. I would rather see him caught and held responsible for being a dumbass.

you wouldnt understand unless your in the field of law enforcement...you never know whtas goin through a suspects head at any given time and your goal at the end of the day is to go home to your family. If the guy would have pulled over it wouldnt happen period. Dont put yourself in a position for that to happen and it wont. Running 99% of the time usually just winds you up in more trouble. i have seen many times people running from the police and when they finally get caught they ran bc of a suspended license or a missed court date. Stupidity

a co-worker of mine got shot 7 times by police when he ran through a checkpoint and "almost hit an officer". he only ran because he didn't have a license and they shot at him over 20 some times hitting him with 7 bullets...

police officers don't really think about the situation too long when adrenaline is pumping and their finger is on the trigger. if they feel their life is in danger, they don't ask questions first...

i agree that not all cops are on the up and up..but for the majority they are normal people that are working a job and making a honest living. No one that i work with is crooked in any way.. but again Police are human and are asked to deal with alot of everyday stress. Even a simple traffic stop you dont know what kind of person you are goin to be dealing with. Also one bad cop that gets caught doing something illegal hits the news and the public thinks all of them are crooked.
