people also need to be required to learn about and be tested on driving in rainy/snowing conditions. Pretty much every single time I'm out and it's raining, I see an accident of some sort.

I live in a very rainy state. Surprisingly though, if we go for like a month without rain, the first time it rains again everyone's like OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD IT'S RAINING and traffic moves 20mph below the speed limit. That's not an exaggeration either. People will go 40mph on the 60mph highway when it rains. They are a HUGE hazard to themselves and others who drive the limit.

Good point.
Just had a car come into the shop today that hit a deer. Destroyed the hood, bumper, fender, well 90% of the front end.

I have had a few run ins with elders. In one case, an old lady just started to change lanes while I was directly next to her.

I had the horn a blaring but she never heard or seen me.(that or she was ignoring me)

That's why when I drive on ANY foresty road, I'm always surveying 100% of my upcoming surrounding 100% of the time. I have avoided many a deer by spotting them in advance from long distances away. I also know that half the time, the animals aren't just by themselves. I will always creep past at like 5-10mph after I see an animal until I feel safe again. Some animal collisions can't be avoided though, but I do my part to avoid as many as I can.

yeah nothin more than a 4 banger, cause i know for a fact that a 4 cly. can't go 135mph.......

How many naturally aspirated 4 cylinders do you know of that are speed demons? Driving slower cars to start teaches good driving habits.....A 16 yr old kid that can hop in a corvette and do 0-60 in 5 seconds is what kills people....cause they have no experience.

The only reason they "can handle it" is because they are started out on slower vehicles and worked up to the faster ones. Here we give ya a license, and you can drive whatever ya want.....no experience necessary.

I agree with that. People would find ways around it though... and I would think most deaths and stuff are from irresponsibility rather than speed.

I've always said - speed responsibly. but there's overlap here...

Personally I don't think you should be allowed to drive anything better than a 4 cyl naturally aspirated 4 door sedan until you are at least 20. Maybe kids will learn how to drive, and understand patience when driving.

Have had numerous small and big block V8 vehicles , yet the only one i wrecked was the only 4 cylinder i ever owned.

well i know 1, and now you do too. you really think the problem is in 1/4 mile times? most kids hit ppl when they're racing off a light? the car has NOTHING todo with accendents and poor driving. that's like blaming guns for ppl being killed. they're just the tools that are used. ppl getting shot, take the guns away, no no they'll never use knives or bombs. kids driving too fast get rid of faster cars, take away the horsepower and add goveners to em, nah they're not smart enough to bypass any of those things with a simple programmer, kids are too stupid, they donno about computers.......

True, just like a gun sitting loaded on a table will NEVER hurt anyone(except with "acts of god") Just like a 1000hp supra will never hurt anyone.
