The new "Mature driver's act" Bill in Florida

It's already illegal in california to use a cell phone while driving without a "hands free" device, and there's still cops and tons of people doin it lolpretty hefty fine too i believe

learning how to drive and taking a test doesn't mean when you're off on your own you won't be a tard

Ya a hefty fine for you or me.

Who gets to pull the cop over and give him a citation??

This and lets just edit
"anyone on cell phones"

You know, I see cops on the phone while driving ALL of the time....

So I guess "good luck with all of that" kinda thing.
They were strict on this when iw orked in new york. Alot of people i worked with got tickets

Ya, it's screwed up that cops can break the law, being a cop doesn't make anything less dangerous. Besides speeding and running red lights, they should have to obey all the laws

And the age thing really doesn't determine how good of a driver you'll be. All the time i see fat ******* in their 40's driving like an idiot

You're no more mature at 17 than you are at 16..so its pointless.
This. For a lot of people, it's just the fact that they can now drive. I know people older than me that recently got licenses and drive crazier than I did when I was 16. Age doesn't make a difference. People mature at different rates and some people need a speeding ticket or rough accident in order to learn(I, myself required the accident lol)

Personally I don't think you should be allowed to drive anything better than a 4 cyl naturally aspirated 4 door sedan until you are at least 20. Maybe kids will learn how to drive, and understand patience when driving.

Tell me about it...my sister somehow managed to pass the test, AFTER she crashed into a car during one of her tests! Go figure, she got in a crash a couple months later. We all knew from the beginning that she would be a HUGE danger to other/herself on the road. My parents even got an Umbrella policy just for that reason.

Dam bro, take that

Another good test would be a reaction time test after you turn, say, 60. That's half the issue with older drivers.

One thing that was an issue with me when I started driving was the limits I would push while driving. Take, for example, a 35mph speed limit on a curvy road. I can safely drive 55mph on it, save for my breaking distances. Before, I used to take those roads at above 60mph. There's a difference between safe limits and actual limits. You push your actual limits too far, and you're gunna get fucked. Driving the safe limit at least takes away some of the known variables that would cause a crash, like loss of traction, snap-oversteer (if you're sliding your car), etc. The unknown "random" variables will be all the more prevalent as opposed to driving the speed limit though, things like Deer, drunk drivers, and freak road hazards.

people also need to be required to learn about and be tested on driving in rainy/snowing conditions. Pretty much every single time I'm out and it's raining, I see an accident of some sort.

I beg to differ...

The reason like 70% of World Rally Champions are Finnish is because they start racing when they're like 14-15. Their driver's training involves drifting, skidpad training, slippery surface driving, heel-toe shifting...

Their program is a lot more difficult though. We should just adopt their system. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I wish I could go there and go through their driver's training.

Good point.

Just had a car come into the shop today that hit a deer. Destroyed the hood, bumper, fender, well 90% of the front end.

I have had a few run ins with elders. In one case, an old lady just started to change lanes while I was directly next to her.

I had the horn a blaring but she never heard or seen me.(that or she was ignoring me)
