The new "Mature driver's act" Bill in Florida

Gorgeous car but I call BS on the same engine as a Supra... unless he swapped it out of one?
Bro, Iam a technician for Lexus and I assure you its the same exact motor as the Non turbo Supra.

Same as the SC300 as well. The auto and man trannys are the same to.

There are slight differences in ECU tuning and what not though.

I have had my hands in building many Supra and IS 300's in the last few years.

We are getting ready to build up an SC300 here shortly.

The SC will be a first for me so It should be fun. We should be starting it after I get back

from GA in a few months.

Originally, my mom tried to teach me how to drive stick. In short, it didn't work. She couldn't teach me right, so I would constantly stall in the neighborhood. She started getting all stressed out, saying "you're going to get out on the road, and you're gunna stall and crash!" I was like, Jesus Christ, I can't even make it out of the neighborhood!
Then, my dad hopped in to teach me after he got off work. 2 minutes later, I was driving no problem.

Although I gotta say, girls who drive modified stick-shift cars are so **** BAMFy. I got mine interested in scoobys and she likes the sound of catless now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'll be teaching her how to drive stick soon. Her next car will either be a smiley mazda or a scoobaru. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Actually no, the lag is not bad.(for this large of one)

The turbo came off of a very, VERY large JD. This turbo was designed for high boost @ a lower RPM for the diesel.

It spools up very fast! and was a problem for him at first until he got used to it.

I like lag...I would love a huge turbo that lags super hard and then just smashes and breaks my neck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Those g-forces, coupled with a screamer pipe would be my dream lol

He handled most of that but..

forged/ cupped 8:9.1 pistons

stock crank that he had cryo'd, balanced and the oil journals chamford (sp?)

Forged, cryo'd alum rods(cant remember the brand??)

He made his own main girdle from some aluminum. Made his own intake plenum, T-body spacer/adapter.

The head was left stock except for the usual porting. Of course all of the moving parts were new.

Thanks on the chamferred!! the spell check dose not even have that one-lol.

I know he had more in it than he payed for the car it self.

IIRC around 10K ish??

Keep in mind that we get very GOOD deals on parts and even better on labor!!-lol

Its nice to have that big ass shop to the 3 or 4 of us after hours!

Lets just say that there were lots of shenanigans!

Just like the 85 year old fart that is blind in one eye and cant see out the other can still keep their license....

Gah I'm so jealous. I've always wanted access to a shop so badly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

That's a lot of moneyz but as long as he's happy with it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif I'm sure it hauls. I hope you guys took lots of pics during the build //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He has a ton of pics.

I dont think he has ran it just yet. He has not worked at the shop now for about 3 or 4 months now so I only talk to him

every so often.

The Lexuses come with the 2JZ-GE while the Supras have the 2JZ-GTE... It takes more then adding a turbo to make it the same engine since the bocks have oilers, the heads are different, I believe the rods are different, the ECU and wiring harness is different, differet compression ... Either way I would do bad things for that car or a Supra... One of my dream cars since I was little...

The 2JZ-GTE is the turbo motor. (hence the T in the designation)The blocks are the same. The compression is the same in the non turbo motors and the heads are the same on the non turbo motors as well. the ECU's just have different tuning/programming.

As for the oil injectors, the non turbo Supra dose not have them as well but is a bolt in upgrade.

I would copy and paste the specs for the Lexus and Toyota non turbo motors to show you the specs from the TIS sight but as an employee, That would get me into

a big NO NO-lol

And looking at the OEM part #'s right now,

the non turbo Supra and SC300 from the same year have the same rod and head part #'s

head-1110149328

rod # 1320146040

All of the part # change in the year 2000 for everything on all of the cars.( alot smaller and easier to remember-lol)

Me though, I would take the Supra any day, It just plain looks sexy!!
