The most expensive subwoofer.

They are no joke ....I run 4 of them in my GreyHound!!!

Cyclone worked on the same principles as the sub you are thinking of though.
No, not really. The fan has articulating blades to vary the frequwncy, a cyclone does not. Very very different design.
The cyclone and its technology had been out many years when that new fan hit the scene.

Its not like the cyclone is any big SPL machine or something....it just plays low down to 14ish hz.....like you can hear that, or find much music that has that kinda content anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Yep. Ive never played with one, but everyone Ive talked to who has says its mostly best for the ultra lows, and not so good at upper bass. That's why many times you'll see someone running one in addition to a 'normal' subwoofer.

I remember when "Kings Best Buy" (not affiliated with "best buy" the big chain) closed there car audio section here in Evansville Indiana, they had a brand new PG Cyclone still in the box for $75...I wish I would have bought it...I could sell that sucker on eBay..They were basically giving away there Crossfire amps and subs. At that time I had never heard of Crossfire but I bought one of there 4 channel amps anyway because it was only $30...

Well this cyclone is amazing...I have two.

I must say compared to a W7, the Cyclone was louder on the lows...and much more powerful that the w7.

The w7 definitely had better higher range than the w7. The cyclone made the Bass TRAVEL FARRRR even at low volume.

I have currently in my setup NOW...not pictured above, a FI BTL 12" and was hitting 137DB (with a crappy box) Added my cyclone back in and set it up so that the cyclone bumps and thumps and does not conflict or cancel out anything from the fi, and I am hitting over 141db now. And even that Cyclone box is not the 2.5cube's that they suggest to run this thing at. I just have limited space in my car...as you can see with the amp rack the way it is.

That cyclone aint no slouch. And if anyone says otherwise they've never seen one or they dont have it set right. The cyclone doesnt even need that much power....

Imagine trying to push a W7 w/ a 1000/1. $500 for the sub....$500 for the amp (just ballpark figures)....

Well imagine the cyclone $400 and a................300 watt whatever amp...$200? or whatever....Also the cyclone will eat up more power. thats all that you need to push a cyclone and it will be as loud if not louder than a W7 in the right parameters. And believe me ...I know...I have both a w7, and cyclone. Also have other subs as you can see. Also if you feed it more that cyclone BUMPS. I put the 1200.1 Ti as you see above straight to just the clone and mannn it pounds...
