Guillen was one of the best hitting SS outside of A-rod from 2004-2007. Do you have ADHD? I mean really do you have a learning disability? I never said replace Magglio with Everett. I was merely pointing out that the notorious weak hitting Everett was out slugging Magglio. How your mind draws other such conclusions is incredible. Magglio's struggles have been going on 50 games now. You still can't get it through that layer of fat around your brain that if Magglio reaches his at-bat total, his option automatically kicks in, which is projected to happen around the all-star break. Now that is contract kicks, Detroit is stuck with a player that can't even play the OF anymore. Leyland has put him at DH and has been playing Clete Thomas in RF and batting Clete 3rd. Magglio lost his spot to Clete Thomas for christ sakes.

Why do you argue medical science? At 26 years old, the male body is near its physical peak. Logic indicates that when a player is struggling during their physical peak, it is either a mental struggle or an injury. When a 35 year old struggles (Magglio could even be older since we really don't know how old these latin players really are) medical science and logic tells me that age has slowed down his bat and weakened his base. (Legs, Knees) Statistics have shown the players production declines at age 35. There are exceptions to the rule like Clemens and Bonds who found steroids, but history shows a players skill diminishes after their early 30's. It is safe to say at 26, Sizemore's physical skill hasn't dimished.

Sizemore is just having an off year. He will be fine and will eventually come back, but he is doing everything wrong this year. He is hitting terrible, his defense is lacking as well...........seems to give up way to easily on easy plays and he has almost been caught stealing as much as he has stole. Just a really off year for him...........and the rest of the team, lol!

Speaking of Sheffield..........you were estacic IIRC about him coming to Detriot and look how old he was.

Have any of you guys been to the HR derby or All-Star game? Just wondering how much it typically costs since it's gonna be in Anaheim next year.

Why is it funny? Neither are capable anymore of playing adequate defense. Magglio is still adequate, but lacks the ideal speed especially in Comerica where there is a big gap in right center. Only you can run 4.4 40's in your 30's.

I made a mistake when I said Magglio would be owed 15 million next year, it's actually 18 million. He is not worth 18 million period. Do you understand? The Tigers can achieve his production from players 4-6 million. Aside from his 2007 season, in this economy and market, his 2006 and 2008 numbers are not worth 18 million. Only you would expect him to repeat 2007 numbers at age 36, given he has never put up such numbers at any point in his career. Odds are highly against Cabrera slumps for 50 games, baring an injury. He did slump the entire first half of last year. Didn't mention a think. His slump still wasn't as bad as Magglio's.

He wasn't struggling like this last year, and he didn't have a vesting option last year. If he was an unrestricted free agent, or at least had a buy out, I would keep him around the entire year.

I tried going in 2005. Good luck even getting tickets. You had to be special or something to even get tickets here. Your best bet to find tickets is through brokers which jack the price up almost double. In the end it wasn't worth it. Maybe in southern California they won't feel the All Star game is that important.
