Dam dood, I think calling you retarded anymore is giving you wayyyyyy to much credit.
I know Gullien was an all-star, but the one year not long ago you were pissed because someone else made the all star game over gullien......think it was Jeter and you went off about how much better gullien was. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Thought you would remember it, but you talk so much shit, I should have known.
Guillen did have better offensive numbers in that time frame than Jeter. How about you reference posts instead of fabricating stories? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
Honestly I don't watch the Tigers, so didn't know they were swapping Gullien and Mags at DH, which is funny in itself.
Why is it funny? Neither are capable anymore of playing adequate defense. Magglio is still adequate, but lacks the ideal speed especially in Comerica where there is a big gap in right center. Only you can run 4.4 40's in your 30's.
I am just pointing out the facts at how hard you nut ride someone till they have a rough go one year and you are all ready to say off with their head. You do the same thing over and over with every sport.
What facts? The ones you make up in your head? Who have I said off with their head? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I'm sorry you have no logical thought process. I made a mistake when I said Magglio would be owed 15 million next year, it's actually 18 million. He is not worth 18 million period. Do you understand? The Tigers can achieve his production from players 4-6 million. Aside from his 2007 season, in this economy and market, his 2006 and 2008 numbers are not worth 18 million. Only you would expect him to repeat 2007 numbers at age 36, given he has never put up such numbers at any point in his career. Now that I'm done with that tangent, guys like Polanco, Galaraga, and Lyon have struggled badly, but where have I said get rid of them? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif They all have friendly contracts and won't cripple the franchise, one that needs to shed payroll.
You will do the same with Cabrerra once he slumps. No question in my mind.
Odds are highly against Cabrera slumps for 50 games, baring an injury. He did slump the entire first half of last year. Didn't mention a think. His slump still wasn't as bad as Magglio's.
And I know what you mean about his contract and the at bats, but if he is performing and doing well, then what would be the problem? He might turn his season around, never know..........unless you sit him. IMO he still has plenty of time left in him.
Problem is, he isn't hitting with any authority. He has a hit streak going on now, but only 2 homers in almost 50 games. He may turn it around? How long do we wait? Till his contract kicks in and the team is stuck with an aging player who has nothing left and is getting paid 36 million?
Funny how I can stick up for a guy that I don't even like, but you want him off the team becuase he struggles the first part of the season. Didn't see you crying like this last year about him at 34, lol!
He wasn't struggling like this last year, and he didn't have a vesting option last year. If he was an unrestricted free agent, or at least had a buy out, I would keep him around the entire year.
Sizemore is just having an off year. He will be fine and will eventually come back, but he is doing everything wrong this year. He is hitting terrible, his defense is lacking as well...........seems to give up way to easily on easy plays and he has almost been caught stealing as much as he has stole. Just a really off year for him...........and the rest of the team, lol!
If you ran Cleveland, you'd still have Bortolo Colon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Speaking of Sheffield..........you were estacic IIRC about him coming to Detriot and look how old he was.
He was still producing, Detroit gave up zero young talent for him, and his contract wasn't as bad as Magglio's. The Tigers also had a lot of payroll to work with.
Have any of you guys been to the HR derby or All-Star game? Just wondering how much it typically costs since it's gonna be in Anaheim next year.
I tried going in 2005. Good luck even getting tickets. You had to be special or something to even get tickets here. Your best bet to find tickets is through brokers which jack the price up almost double. In the end it wasn't worth it. Maybe in southern California they won't feel the All Star game is that important.
