**The MLB Thread**

willis would be no worse than a real good #3 guy even if he repeats what he did last year...thing is i would guess he would get more support and probably finish with well above .500 season. worst i can see him going there is 13-10 or something like that. if he is scheduled right up against other #2-#5 starters probably better

Cabrera also put up these numbers on a mediocre lineup. He'll have Polanco and Granderson ahead of him, and potentially Magglio and Sheffield behind him. He'll only be 25 and just entering his prime so he can have a break out year in Detroit.

inserting a heavy hitter in a already heavy hitting line up doesnt mean they all will have an awesome season individually..thing is doing it in the clutch when it counts..not what they did 2-3 years ago....score 20-50 more runs in the season at the right time they can win 10-15 more games or they can score 70 more and win less lol

Cabrera isn't 2-3 years from his best years. He is in the prime of his career and when you have protection like Magglio and Sheffield, he will get pitches to hit. Look at the impact Sheffield had on Magglio.

I wonder if the Tigers would consider moving Guillen to 3rd and Cabrera to 1B?

Wow, the Tigers made quite a splash.
Ice- what's going to happen with Inge?
A lot of people feel he will be a utility player. He is a great athlete and was originally drafted as a SS, moved to catcher, then to 3rd so he can play multiple positions. The Detroit Free Press says Inge, Thames, and Durbin are on the block. Problem is, Inge signed a 4 year 24 million dollar extension, so he is a costly utility player. My guess is he gets traded. Probably for a mid level reliever. Perhaps to St. Louis. There is also the possibility that Inge plays 3B and Cabrera plays Left against lefties, and Jones plays Left and Cabrera plays 3B against Righties. Inge can also be used as a defensive replacement for Cabrera late in games, but I say he gets traded.

One of either Detroit, Cleveland, New York, or Boston will not make the playoffs next year, and whoever it is, will be better then any NL team. IMO Detroit and Boston will be division winners, and if Carmona and Sabathia weren't worn down by the playoffs, Cleveland will win the wild card.

why do you always blast NL teams?

didnt an "inferior" NL team sweep your Tigers?

Watch, next the Mets will trade Jose Reyes for Scott Hatteberg and Omar will say Scott will be a key addition to the clubhouse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
