gotta love the fact the red sox have 7 rings not 3 lol.....will take more than santana for the yankees to win the series and so far all they have done is sign the same old farts that couldnt get the job done for a lot more money lol

Tyler Clippard To Nationals For Albaladejo

A source at the Meetings tells me the Yanks are sending Tyler Clippard over to the Nats in a trade for minor league reliever Jonathan Albaladejo. Ah here we go, the Washington Post now has this one.

Clippard, a righthanded starter, turns 23 in February. He's said to be a "finesse righty with a plus curve." A move to the NL and a rotation spot means things are looking up for him.

Albaladejo is a 25 year-old who did a nice job in relief at Triple A and with Washington last year. The Nats had snagged him as a minor league free agent.

You've got to like this move for the Nats, even if it seems small.

gotta love yankee fans..according to them the red sox copied them and dontever use their own farm system..its like the rookie of the year dont matter, elsberry was from mars, youk was from jupiter, buky didnt throw a no hitter and lester didnt almost pitch more innings in the playoffs and actually performed are all less than Joba. all Joba did was attract bugs in the playoffs.

Red Sox Making Progress On Johan Santana

UPDATE, 12-4-07 at 2:04am: Tim Brown checks in. He confirms the Twins are checking Lester's medical records. He says the current deal on the table is Lester, Crisp, Masterson, and a minor leaguer. A Red Sox official was said to be "cautiously optimistic." If the current scenario is accurate, perhaps the Twins have finally bent on their demand for both Lester and Ellsbury.

“If the Twins were satisfied with Lester’s medicals, it’s believed they would accept a swap of him, Coco Crisp, shortstop prospect Jed Lowrie and either highly regarded pitching prospect Justin Masterson or another player. Or if the Twins reversed field and decided they wanted center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury instead, it’s believed that would be a 3-for-1 trade - with only Ellsbury, Masterson and Lowrie going to Minnesota.”

Olney writes that a deal could go down ‘sometime during the early morning hours.’

Gordon Edes of the Boston Globe writes that Sox GM Theo Epstein and Bill Smith, his Minnesota counterpart, have called it a night, but with given the medical information swap, a deal “appears close” and could be done in the morning. He and his Globe colleagues are working to rumors that the package Boston is sending to the Twins consists of Lester, Crisp, Lowrie and Masterson.
