Santana to the Sox would be absolute buttsecks. Not so much for him going to te Sawx, but more of the Yanks not getting him, and being stuck with 49 year old Mike Mussina and his batting practice 84mph fastball, and 53 year old Andy Pettitte and his giant nose and balk/pickoff move.

Latest Erik Bedard Rumors: Tuesday

UPDATE, 12-4-07 at 4:10pm: Joel Sherman confirms the Cubs' interest, so that's officially 11 teams in on Bedard. Sherman says the Yankees and Mets are unlikely to snag the southpaw ace, and names the Dodgers as the frontrunner. Peter Angelos is letting Andy MacPhail run the show but doesn't want Bedard traded within the division. Sorry Yankees and Blue Jays.

Ive been a Mets fan since 87

through all the BS

I havent seen something like this season. We collapsed and lost the division the last day of the season.....no playoffs after virtually the whole season being in 1st.

Willie fuccked up with his bullpen management and Omar messed up with trading Bannister and letting Bradford, Lindstrom, Bell, Oliver and Jesus Flores go.

Ive been quite depressed after all of this. I went to many games this season and supported them. I was at Milledge's 1st game and I really thought he had potential with the Mets. Now Omar trades him for BS.

I believe that the Mets owe us fans for their collapse. Getting an ace like Bedard or Haren is the answer. getting Livan Hernandez is not.

…there had been some buzz over the last day or so suggesting that the Mets were ‘close’ to acquiring LHP Erik Bedard from the O’s, but unfortunately it was false…

…however, while the Mets had been in contact with the O’s during the last day or so, from what i understand, Omar Minaya and Andy MacPhail recently concluded a fact-to-face meeting, rendering Jayson Stark’s report from ESPN.com a bit old, though i am sure it was true at the time…

Well I was on hiatus from the forum but I had to return just for this trade. I'm totally stunned. I thought Detroit would be done after Renteria with big moves. Maybin is a great prospect, but if you can get an accomplished 24 year old like Cabrera, then you do it. I said before I'd trade Maybin only for Cabrera. I'm a little concerned about Willis and his decline. However moving to the AL his funky delivery may work with unfamilar hitters. Rabello is basically an extra since the Tigers have Vance Wilson, I would like to find out the other 3 minor leaguers. DLC I read was one of them. He's a good young reliver but not a ton of upside. Apparently this means the end for Inge. Unless the want a 6 million dollar utility player.

This is much better then the Juan Gonzalez deal. I think Dombrowski was hearing all this talk about Boston and New York and now has put Detroit ahead of Cleveland and next to Boston for the top team in MLB.
