I have this amp and 2 12" Kicker CVR's (4 ohm).....My question is if these are going to work together in any way worth trying or if I should try to somehow get the 2ohm CVR's. Or should I just try to get a diff. amp????? Earlier today I would turn my system up and the amp would go into protect and the subs would kick off until I lowered the volume. The guy at my local audio store said I should've gotten the 2 ohm version subs and that I pretty much wasted my money. 2 4 ohm subs can be wired at 2 ohms. 2 2 ohm subs can't... You should be fine if your gains are set properly. 2 4 ohm subs can be wired at 8 ohms or at 2 ohms depending on how you have them wired. If you used 2 2ohm woofers you'd either get a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load.

i think he has 2 dual4ohm(just a guess) subs, which would wire to either 1ohm or 4ohm.

If that's the case i've heard that the amp will go down to 1ohm, u just have to be careful

i'm assuming that the OP has dvc subs? which would validate his dilemma, but you know this already. So to the original poster yes you really need either single coil 4 ohm subs or dual coil 2 ohm subs.

Yes, mine are DVC 4 ohm subs(4ohms a piece).............so this is what I have gathered:::::I can either stick with these and how they are parallel wired(which I think is giving a 1ohm load) I just have to be careful and set my gains properly.......on the other hand-YES I really do need some DVC 2 ohm CVR's and everything would be a lot smoother????? Am I on the right path? Also, thank you guys for your help, I really appreciate it. Ya know....it's funny I was sitting in my driveway for about the last 20 minutes bumpin' it with the gain only turned up like 1/5 of the way and they didn't shut off and they sounded GOOD.....I'm so confused

yes, 2 dual 2ohm subs will wire to 2ohms, which is perfect for ur amp

i have mine seeing a 2ohm load and it never even gets warm under normal listening.

thats what he's getting at....he has no way to get a 2 ohm load.

get a 3rd one and then you can run it at 2.67 ohms
