The iPhone is a piece of shit, so lets not get all excited about it.

in your geek world yes, but for the average consumer thats what they call them, some even call them windows computers, point is we all knew what he was trying to say and if your buddy Jmac or whatever is that smart he knew it too:eyebrow:
The point is, regardless if you or anyone for that matter knew what he was trying to say.....calling a computer a , "Microsoft computer" is wrong. That's the only point I'm trying to get across.

OKay, the list on the first page is pretty much BS. The iPhone isn't $800, it's $499 & $599 with a 2 yr contract. It does have a SIM slot, and the talk time is 8 hours. Most everything else on the list is wrong as well.

I've held the thing while at a pre-launch event. It's not huge. It actually fits in the hand pretty well.

Will I buy it? Probably not at first. I'm as big a Mac fanboy as they come, but I'll wait until all the bugs are worked out. I don't want to end up like the people who bought the first Moto Razors and ended up with crappy phones...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

As it turns out, much of the hype and some of the criticisms are justified. The iPhone is revolutionary; it’s flawed. It’s substance; it’s style. It does things no phone has ever done before; it lacks features found even on the most basic phones.
very well written review of the iphone... very balanced... heres what the overall review is

But even in version 1.0, the iPhone is still the most sophisticated, outlook-changing piece of electronics to come along in years. It does so many things so well, and so pleasurably, that you tend to forgive its foibles.
In other words, maybe all the iPhone hype isn’t hype at all. As the ball player Dizzy Dean once said, “It ain’t bragging if you done it.”
sure it has setbacks... but apparently the other things greatly make up for it... the review even has sample pictures taken with the iphone... they look great to me, sure its no professional camera, but it does the job very well... in "well lit, non motion" areas...

So is your assesment. What happens when you sign a two year contract? They knock off two hundred dollars....
