The Great 15" Challenge

There is really nothing to say anymore. It wasn't fun when I went through this with the last challenge, either, but it was right then and it's right now. The critique is in this thread, and you can learn from it or continue to waste your time.
I am quite confident that an objective reader will see who was for the testing, and who was against; look at our collective past posts and you might gain a better understanding of where we're coming from. And I assure you we're not here just posting for kicks: there is a problem in the testing methodology (and yes, the people who make arguments with drop-in tests are just as wrong).
I really don't think anyone has tried to hide it. I think we get your point though, the ones that agree with you are the "smart" ones as someone said and everyone else needs a "wake-up call".

I know them. I make exceptions as I deem necessary for those who are exceptionally ignorant.
nDeed.

Hey....You are a FCKING DUMBASS. If you are going to do your job...lead by example. Stop whinning like a little *****. This is the reason why this forum has turn into shit. Too bad you dont actually act like this in real life, you'd get put into your place right away.

OP..just move this entire project onto a different forum. Mods on here need to grow the fck up.

Only whining I see is from the OP...

Greasemonkey, bumpinbuick and I all worked on the SPL boxes on saturday. We are finishing em up today.

Thanks to greasemonkey for helping with the boxes

Thanks to bumpinbuick for driving a little bit to help with the boxes

Thanks to my dad for helping us with the table saw

Thanks to Wenn du Weinst for the box designs

My input on the whole impedance problem people brought up is this:
If the HDC3 has a 1.8 ohm load during testing while a HW has a 1.2... It looks to me like the HDC3 needs to be rethought in terms of what impedances are available to the customer. Or likewise.

This test to me is just what subs are top in NORMAL everyday setups. Which means about 95 percent of all these subs being sold will be put in a normal ported box for daily listening to a person who could care less about impedance rise.... let alone know what it is...

EXAMPLE!

If the results show the HW is 1 db louder than a HDC3 and it also shows a .5 ohm impedance difference in the two... THAT SHOWS THAT IN A DAILY TYPICAL INSTALLATION THE HW WILL BE LOUDER! Because it has a better approach to impedance issues which means its a better driver in that area... Or likewise...

The tests are a typical installation in a daily typical setup.
LOL......
I guess bumpin..... to make some of these people happy...

You could make a box for each driver built to specifics and just run the same amp to each sub on each criteria of the test...

And AGAIN I say, if sub A's impedance rise is a lot where as sub B's impedance is minimal... It looks like sub A just lost. To me that shows a problem area with sub A, not a install error
What the hell is this guy talking about? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You got a lot to learn about impedence rise and vehicle resonance.

What would you say if the HW got beat by the HDC3? Now is it an installation problem? What if the HDC3 was louder with 1000 watts than a HW with 3000? Installer error?

What if the HW with a lower DCR had a HIGHER impedence rise than a sub with higher DCR?

I think you need to back out of this thread slowly before your brain gets hurt.

Yah, I already pointed out the kid was an r-tard a few times...

Of course he spouted off at the mouth with more incorrect nonsense...

has the testing began? Is there a list of the drivers being tested somewhere in this long *** post? Also what type of power, vehicle, etc.? Look forward to some results I was waiting on this after the 12" challenge, 15's are more my cup of tea.
