The Great 15" Challenge

Doesnt really matter does it? You got a RE XXX be happy with it man lol dont be like Bizzle or Jake were you switch systems every **** week
what if i want to. lol. Idk I'm just thinkin if I could get a good price now, and use the sub for when I start competting.

I think he is implying its kinda of awkward or weird to receive the sub for free to sell to someone for alot cheaper after testing. it would put me in a weird position if people wanted to buy subs i tested and that a company gave me for free.

Thank you, couldn't have put it better. I dont have any intentions of really selling any subs other then to pay off the box builders. The rest that I am able to keep I will continue to test and push to their limits, maybe I will write up a review as how the subs perform have all broken in and have been beaten on for a while, as im sure some subs will hold up better then others.

BTW for company owners seeing this thread, please send in subs when your ready I know I have to wait a bit for Rusty but the sooner I get the subs, the sooner I can begin the tests. I will have a few of the boxes in this week.

When are you gonna start testing these woofers?
And when are you guys coming down to the chicagoland area I want to get metered & see these tests.

Keep it up man.
Im down there like every three weeks or so. We all meet at MLstrass's place in waukegan for metering.

Testing starts soon as I get subs and boxes in to start testing with.

Yup I am very excited to see the TSNS in the lineup. Should be a great showdown between the Lvl5, SHW, and TSNS. I know they arent all the same voice coil size but they are all in similar price range and have similar power handling capabilities.

You sure did spend a lot of time on typing this for not reading the purpose behind the testing. Your right this will not be the most accurate test out there as that is near impossible to achieve. Rather I am testing the subs in a set surrounding. I understand not everyone here has a Toyota 4runner.
Lets be honest though most people don't purchase a sub merely because it had tested well in their vehicle. I am simply putting the subs through a similar test to see which ones perform better, which handle power better, which fail, and so on.

Too many people are looking way into this test as if it were the end of the world if I mess something up. Take it for what it is and thats all it is. Not many people have done drop in tests like this so I am providing my time and money to help perform the tests.

I am no noob to the car audio and I understand exactly what I am doing, some people still feel the need to remind me of the variables through posts or PM, I hope everyone can just understand what I am doing. If you guys dont like the results dont look at them, simple as that. I know out of all the people complaining about this though there are still way more people who would love to see the results. Thats the only reason i am really putting up with all of this.
I actually have looked through the entire thread. From your first statement the purpose was to do a variety of tests to compare the subwoofers. Anytime you are comparing something you need to eliminate variables for an accurate comparison. For all the work and effort that you will be putting into this I'm sure people would like to see results that can mean something to them as well.

Testing in a given vehicle is not specifically a problem. Tom Nousaine always tested every woofer for Car Audio and Electronics in his Corvette. The results were comparable as he would verify the results with a control woofer in each case.

I am not doubting the effort you will put into this. I believe everyone appreciates the work you are willing to put into this. People however need accurate results to make valid comparisons. I am only trying to give you suggestions to help make sure that happens. Will this be taking place in appleton? If so I'm only up the road i Green Bay.

John
No offense to the OP, but this guy seems to know what he is talking about, and if he is just up the road from you and willing to help out I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss his opinion. The truth is, you do need some kind of standards for measurement if you want this to be anything more than a fun afternoon and forgotten web post.
