The First System You Loved..

Denon HU, Nacamichi amps, comps and crossovers and M&M Godfather 15"s and 8"s It was unreal. After that my kraco never sounded the same. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

An Optimus Amp 400X2 and 2 Bumper 10's in a Band Pass Box. I picked the whole thing up for 125 plus he installed it for free. It was sitting in the trunk of my 1990 Accord EX with 225,000 miles on it. I had the ports firing right into the back seats so you could feel the air. It doesn't sound like much but all my friends were impressed. A year later I blew the shit out of these speakers when I got my PPI art series amp. It was sad but fun!

I held the glass on my cousin Aaron's Nissan Ext. Cab at the pied piper stereo show in ashland KY probably about 4-5 years ago. He had four JL 15's (i'm pretty sure they were w1's....maybe not...) on two Audio Art amps (probably 50 or 100HC's, again, not sure). After seeing and feeling the bass from his truck, I knew that I had to have a system too. Five years, six vehicles, eight audio systems, and about $10k later, I've finally got the system I want (for now!)

my friend had 2 12" Urban subs (biggest piece of shit ever) and a really shitty 200 watt amp...which probably put out about 80. I heard those...and they were bad and fell in love with bass. Then i bought my kenwood tornadoes and thought they were the greatest and then heard other systems and wasnt satisfied. Now i think i have too much bass...so im selling off one of my subs and using the money for mids and highs.

The first system that got me hooked was a pair of home Cerwin Vega 15" Towers in the back of a chevy van. D@mn it sounded good. They were being powered by a realistic 100 x 2 amp. The first acual real car audio system was Richard Clarks Grand National. Oh my god.......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

all the people in my town are addicted to kenwood. i think i am the only one that isn't running anything kenwood. everybody else is all kenwood (lots of road gear and jensen floating around too) pretty pathetic. i geuss one guys got a couple of mtx subs not sure which model all i know is that my 1 12" RF HE will smoke the two of his and he is running like 450 watts to each sub and i'm only running 300 to 1 which proves it's all in the install. but the first system i seen was my cousins. he had 2 pioneer 6 x 9's and a petras sub hooked to a 200 watt mono amp. first decent system i heard was 2 12" clarion subs in a bandpass running off a jbl 600.1 and a 3 farad cap with infinity 4 x 6's all around and a nice jvc HU. this is in a sunfire and the car is literally falling apart. the door panels are now superglued on as is the rear view and anything else that could have potentially fallin off is now glued haha. sounds nice though. haha

Ramos: You know Mr. Clark? If you do, I want that man's autograph.

The cousin i mentioned in an earlier post in this thread had pictures he took of the Grand National and the Hearse hanging up in his living room as inspiration....if I could get Clark to autograph my copies of these pictures, he'd probably trade me his first born child //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the first subs that i heard that were way to loud were the jl w6s my freind had 6 12's in the back of a rodeo hooked up to a 2400.2 ppi amp ever since i just gotta go big trying to run with the big dogs:mad:

lol theres a kid at my school w/ a system in his hearse. he's got 6 jl w3 12's in a custom box shaped like a coffin..it's tight

My brother's. He did it back in about '91. It was in an '86 z24

HU - sony (a mistake, he plainly admits)

Front dash - 4" Lanzar mid-bass & Tweeter

Front Doors - 6" Lanzar mid bass

Rear deck - 5-1/4" Mid bass & tweeter

Sub box - integrated directly below the rear deck w/plexi viewing panel - 3 chamber isobaric enclosure with 4 10" Lanzar OA's, each pair facing each other w/a 180 degree offset, middle chamber ported through rear deck.

Mid/Hi amps - Optidrive (the old school grey-blue ones) Opti 100 (50x2 rms)(three of these)

Sub amp - Opti 200

Crossovers - OptiX2 and OptiX3

The amps were installed in a drawer that rolled out from underneath the sub box. It had a plexi cover and 2 fans to keep the amps cool since they were running all channels at 2 ohms. The drawer had a formica panel on the face. He also had a velcro formica panel to cover up the plexi panel on the sub box for stealth. The x/o's were mounted flush to a false wall on either side of the trunk and all the speakers in the cabin were covered by stock grilles. When the trunk panels were in place and the amps drawer was hidden you would never have known he had a 5k system in it even with the trunk open. I loved it, and you would never have believed the bass with just 400 watts (probably closer to 500 actual).
